Job Summary

 

With minimum guidance in a team environment, responsible for performing a variety of maintenance, repair and Calibration services in line with GKN’s scope and nature in one or more of the following areas: equipment, production and N/C machinery at GKN Aerospace Manchester, with minimum guidance in a team environment, responsible for performing a variety of maintenance, repair and Calibration services in line with GKN’s scope and nature in one or more of the following areas: equipment, production and N/C machinery at GKN Aerospace Manchester.

Job Responsibilities

 

•    Perform/Coordinate preventive maintenance functions for all machinery.
•    Diagnose and repair routine machine problems.
•    Maintain a service/repair/maintenance records database.
•    Diagnoses problems and/or failures and repairs a variety of equipment (e.g. lathes, 5/axis milling machines, robotics etc.) for the purpose of identifying equipment and/or systems repair and replacement needs.
•    Cleans sharpens and lubricates electrical, motorized and/or mechanical equipment (e.g. compressors, vacuums, motors, pumps, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring units are operating safely and correctly.
•    Performs routine and preventive maintenance for the purpose of ensuring the ongoing functioning of required machinery and related equipment.
•    Perform machine calibrations in scope with GKN maintenance plan.
•    Work closely with production to ensure maintenance is in-line with production schedule.
•    Work with manufacturers to order replacement & spare parts while ensuring price is with-in acceptable range
•    Develop and maintain systems for onsite spare part inventory ordering, tracking and storage.
•    Coordinates with administration for the purpose of completing projects/work orders efficiently and tracking up time on the machines.
•    Requests equipment and supplies for the purpose of maintaining inventory and ensuring availability of required items to complete the necessary installation/repair.
•    Informs personnel regarding procedures and/or status of work orders for the purpose of providing information for making decisions, taking appropriate action and/or complying with health and safety regulations.
•    Work with maintenance connection to schedule work and implement work orders.
 

Job Qualifications

 

 Basic Qualifications:


•    5+ years of mechanical experience
•    2+ years of direct experience with CNC milling machines
 
Preferred Qualifications:


•    GKN Experience
•    2+ years’ experience in Aerospace manufacturing environment

 

Physical Requirements:

 

•    Required to lift up to 50 pounds.
•    May require forklift operator certification
