The Role:
There is an opportunity, within the Engineering Services team, for a NC Process Engineer. The role involves the technical organisation
and management of CNC and CMM applications. Among other activities, this will include the development of new parts and existing
programs in the machining cell, and machining technologies. The successful candidate will be experienced in a relevant engineering
discipline and have a “hands on” approach. The candidate will also be able to prioritize jobs and be comfortable liaising with suppliers
and other departments.

Job Responsibilities

Responsible for the development of NC Programming solutions to complex problems through:
o The implementation of NC Programs, from original concept through to production. Develop NC Programming
solutions for high degree of process capability utilizing the GKN standard Zero Defect Manufacturing (ZDM) tool
suite to demonstrate as such.
Development of newly installed CNC machines to a production ready standard.
Technical organisation of the Transparencies CNC cell and leading C.I. activities.
Existing transparencies CNC / CMM program and process improvement.
Upkeep and Organisation of machinery and tooling, planning maintenance schedules.
Route card, Specification and Tooling Reviews to ensure best working practice.
Working to increase the efficiency of production.
CNC/CMM data capture analysis.
Be compliant with the Company’s Environmental, Health & Safety and Energy procedures.
Any other reasonable duties.

Job Qualifications

Practical Experience of CNC machines and manufacturing strategies (5 axis desirable).
Practical Experience of Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) and inspection strategies.
 Ability to read engineering drawings and an understanding of geometric tolerances and datum features.
Knowledge of Siemens CNC Controllers is advantageous.
Basic knowledge of CAM and inspection software. Powermill and PCDMIS is advantageous but training can be supplied.
Ability to communicate effectively and under pressure, within set time constraints.
Fluent in English language, both written and spoken.
Ability to work in a small team and communicate effectively with customers and suppliers.
Experience of basic office software.
