The Role: 

As part of a larger work transfer project, several new processes are being moved into GKN Luton. This roll will be to organise all relevant works required to prepare GKN Luton for the arrival of all equipment. Reporting to the Project Manager, this role will require occasional travel between Luton and Birmingham.

Job Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities:
-    Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors to ensure preparation work is carried out on time.
-    Identify necessary work to 
-    Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and industry codes
-    Implement best practice processes to increase efficiency
-    Obtain quotes and tenders from vendors and suppliers
-    Calculate and compare costs for goods and services to maximize cost-effectiveness
-    Coordinate and monitor activities of contract suppliers
-    Manage contractor and vendor relationships
-    Manage and review service contracts to ensure facility management needs are being met
-    Ensure delivery schedules, quantity and quality criteria are met
-    Check completed work by contractors and vendors
-    Ensure efficient utilization of facility maintenance staff
-    Generate and present regular reports and reviews of facility-related budgets, finances, contracts, expenditures and purchases
-    Advise on and monitor energy efficiency
-    Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems
-    Sound knowledge of health, safety and environmental regulations
-    Experience in construction, maintenance and all facets of facility operation
-    Experience with MS Project is advantageous
-    Valid UK driver’s license, frequent UK travel will be required
