GKN Aerospace is reorganizing in order to become more customer-focused and improve operational performance.  The global transformation follows years of growth-by-acquisition, and will see it move from four independent internal divisions into a single, fully integrated business. 

The role can be based anywhere in Europe. 

The grade of this role is O (CLA). 

 

This position will be critical in moving the organization into the new direction by accomplishing the following:

  • Ensures that the areas of Program Management and Commercial Management across the Business Line operate in a compliant and best practice manner by:
    • defining, developing, maintaining and driving adherence to standard, best practice methodologies, processes and tools
    • ensuring adherence to corporate and regulatory governance
    • ensuring consistent and transparent reporting across the Business Line program portfolio
  • Provide decision support information and support the development of a mature Programme Management and Commercial (PMC) organization.

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Providing strong leadership and direction to the Programme & Commercial Management teams to support and deploy best practices
  • Accountable for assurance of adherence to defined standards and governance in areas of programme and commercial by developing and embedding standards
  • Responsible to provide professional support as well as functional coaching and guidance to deployed program and commercial staff to enable their success
  • Accountable for the consolidation, challenge and timely delivery of the PM reports in line with the defined governance
  • Support the Organizational Planning Process with a functional perspective to ensure the resources, talent, skills and capabilities are in place to deliver the functional and business strategies
  • Engage with stakeholders and users to define an effective set of tools and templates for programme and commercial management processes
  • Create insight in the portfolio risks across the customer accounts
  • Defining training needs and deployment of these trainings
  • Support the life cycle process and gated reviews
  • Support the Business Excellence Support and Transformation Director in securing adherence to commercial reporting requirements in line with corporate governance
  • Responsible to provide accessibility to centralized knowledge pool for program management, commercial and compliance risk management

Qualifications

 

  • Skilled and experienced in GKN Aerospace programme and commercial processes and standards
  • Ability to coach and train less experienced colleges
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experienced people manager who knows how to commit, motivate and develop teams and employees and by doing so increase the team results
  • IPMA – C or equal certified
  • Experience in Commercial roles in the field of contract management, proposal management, business modelling and estimating.
  • Skills and experience of influencing cross functional relationships within the company
  • Extensive and successful experience with managing large and complex departments, programs or teams on a tactical / strategic level
