Job Summary

12 month fixed term contract

This person will be accountable to the Senior Programme Manager for the successful execution of their intended programmes, and assuming the overall responsibility of the programme both financially against budgets / business case, and act as the voice of the customer to ensure the customer’s requirements are fully met, including by not limited to: on-time delivery, right first-time quality of product.

 

This person will be ultimately accountable for the overall programme profit & loss (P&L), and shall be expected to prepare, analyse, understand and report the financial performance of the programme at a senior level, on a continuing basis. Moreover, a critical aspect to this role is not only reporting what has happened, but how to influence their programme in a positive way for the future, both from a customer perspective and financial results.

Job Responsibilities
  • Providing overall leadership and accountability to the programmes, ensuring the timely execution and delivery of the programme, to specification and within agreed financial budgets and business case. 
  • Primary interface with the Customer for all aspects of the programme including the areas of Commercial, Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain and Quality, and ensure the voice of the customer is communicated appropriately in such areas.
  • Building positive and mutually beneficial relationships with the Customer to ensure overall customer satisfaction relative to current programme and promote follow on opportunities internally and to the Customer.
  • Demonstrate a high level of attention to detail, in forecasting and reporting programme financials including sales revenue and profitability, and furthermore understanding the way to influence these variables positively.
  • Ensure the management of the programme adheres to GKN’s programme management, commercial and financial policies and processes.
  • Key within this responsibility is the ability to pro-actively identify and mitigate any risks to programme performance.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Demonstrable experience in Programme Management or a customer facing role that requires meeting customer requirements while working as part of a team
  • Experience of influencing cross-functional relationships within the company and/or customer organisation to deliver
  • Degree or equivalent level of education in business management or similar 
  • Engineering qualifications preferable but not mandatory
