Job Summary
Demonstrate exceptional proficiency in TIG and Electron-beam welding techniques, particularly with titanium alloys, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work within demanding deadlines.
This role will play a critical part in ensuring the safe and efficient repair and maintenance of critical aircraft components.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform precise TIG welding on titanium components using a wide range of specifications and procedures.
- Ensure proper welding parameters and heat treatment to meet specific weld requirements.
- Select appropriate welding parameters based on material thickness, welding position, and application according to the approved documents.
- Adhere to strict quality control protocols, ensuring welds meet industry standards and company specifications.
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on welding equipment.
- Support the team in new product development for TIG welding processes.
- Train new TIG welders according to the approved documents and provide guidance as required.
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience as a Titanium TIG Welder
- High school diploma or equivalent technical training in welding preferred
- Proficient in Aerospace Welding Standards (AWS D17.1, AS9100)
- In-depth knowledge of titanium welding characteristics, including metallurgy, welding parameters, and post-weld heat treatment
- Excellent TIG welding skills with precise weld bead placement, penetration control, and surface finish
- Experience in GTAW and SMAW are an added advantage
- Ability to interpret and follow complex engineering drawings and specifications
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining the highest quality standards
