Job Summary

Act as a skilled knowledgeable team member whose mission is to provide the local business first level SAP support of the global SAP MRO Template.

Accountable for delivering robust, capable manufacturing system and process as it applies to all product.

Act SAP Key User with knowledge of the most critical SAP processes to be able to support locally before reaching out for global support.

Job Responsibilities

1. General

  • Exemplifying a safety-first mind-set and ensuring compliance with the GKN Aerospace Health, Safety and Environmental policies and standards.
  • Responsible for the development of technical solutions to complex problems within GKN Aerospace, our customers and suppliers.
  • Deliver technical support of manufacturing process development and integration for production.
  • Utilize root cause analysis, preventative and corrective action to reduce/eliminate non-conformances.
  • Maintain positive, team relationships with internal and external customers, as well as co-workers
  • Continuously improve production processes by implementing Lean initiatives.

2. Sub-Function Specific

    •     SAP Specialist
      • The SAP Key User will work closely with the global SAP Key Users and the ERP CoE Team (IT) and play a role in being the first contact between local End Users and the ERP CoE Team (IT).
      • Align with SAP Super Users locally to understand the business requirements.
      • Align with global SAP Key Users regards to new requirements on the SAP MRO Template.
      • Align with the ERP CoE Team (IT) and global SAP Key Users to deliver local SAP support to the End Users.
      • Support on new product introduction SAP system establishment in GKN ESCR.
      • Support in identifying SAP Super Users for each function in the business for GKN ESCR.
      • Coordinate business requirements and support in creating tickets or identify projects if needed.
      • Responsible for all SAP training material/documents to be updated and accurate.
      • Ensure the end users have performed the training required to perform their tasks in SAP.
      •  
    • Manufacturing Engineer
      • Responsible for the development of manufacturing process solutions
        to complex problems through:
        - Accountable for supporting product development, first article development, configuration changes, build process definition and implementation.
        - Accountable for development on new product introduction (NPI) thru SAP system and work with NPI Engineer(s).
        - Accountable for product internal and external audit.
        - Accountable for any process changes for improvement, implementation, and first article.
        - Supporting lean initiatives by working with technicians on process improvement, 5S activities and kaizen events.
        - Accountable for process technical training for technicians on SAP operating system.

    •  Configuration Management
      • Responsible for implementation, execution and adherence to product configuration management processes through:
        - Preparing configuration documentations and maintaining the data quality, integrity and security of Configuration Management (CM) database.
        - Deploy CM standard and recommend enhancements to existing CM processes through deployment of Lean initiatives and global collaboration with other CM teams.
      • Audits the CM database and analyse configuration issues. Implement appropriate resolutions to audit findings and configuration issues.

3. Performs other related duties as assigned by Management.

Job Qualifications

  • Technical expertise in Manufacturing/Process/Product Engineering, with a professional qualification/Bachelor Degree/Professional Degree in Engineering (Aerospace/Aviation), Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, NDT) or IT System.
    - Fully competent in own field of work, developing skills in other areas.
    - Increasingly able to provide Technical input at all levels of work in terms of product requirements or machineries.
    - Capable of being a technical representative, representing the business at a customer / supplier meeting.
    - Identifies and anticipates technical problems and offers solutions.
    - Drives to complete the job on time and continually searches for better ways of doing things.
    - Understands situations by analyzing them logically and uses information in a systematic way identifying appropriate course of action for resolution.
    - Ability to apply complex and non-routine analysis.
    - Strong documentation skills.
    - Trained on Train The Trainer is an advantage.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment system.
  • Knowledgeable in SAP functions available in the market.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team - to effectively listen, challenge and communicate
  • Good communication skills in the English and native language - both verbal and written
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Manufacturing/Product/Process Engineering.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in SAP usage and/or support.
  • Working knowledge of quality system models such as IS09000, AS9100, and/orD1-9000.
  • Participates in activities within a global technical community and understanding of the interface with broader business functions
    - Competent member of the technical community with a good understanding of other disciplines
    - Acts without supervision in own area whilst able to supervise others.
    - Understands the formal and informal structure of the business
    - Provides support to the technical community and show commercial awareness at local level.
    - Recognizes the culture and climate within the organization
  • Develops working relationships through team work, influencing, leadership,

    - Set example through own behavior and attitude. Able to contribute to effective project plans.
    - Proactive approach demonstrated in team environment to achieve knowledge management.

For internal candidates, the foundation of the ME Academy must be completed and training initiated to become a Zero Defect Practitioner and 6o Green Belt. External candidates to demonstrate equivalent capability in problem solving and process control.
