Job Summary

The Level 2 NDT Technician will be responsible for conducting non-destructive testing procedures to evaluate the integrity and safety of various components and systems used in aircraft, industrial equipment, or other relevant applications. This role requires a strong understanding of NDT techniques, adherence to industry standards, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Fully competent Level 2 inspector (with valid certificate - EN4179 @ NAS410 @ PCN) in own field of work, developing skills in other areas.
  • Perform Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) on materials and components using methods such as Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI), Radiographic Testing (RT), and Eddy Current Testing (ET).
  • Increasingly able to provide Technical input at all levels of work
  • Capable of being a technical representative, representing the business at a customer / supplier meeting
  • Identifies and anticipates technical problems and offers solutions
  • Drives to complete the job on time and continually searches for better ways of doing things
  • Understands situations by analysing them logically and uses information in a systematic way identifying appropriate course of action for resolution.
  • Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to identify and address potential defects or issues in components and systems.
  • Maintain accurate records of NDT procedures, reports, and certifications as required by company policies and industry regulations.
  • Ensure the proper calibration and maintenance of NDT equipment and tools.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the NDT department.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, promoting a culture of safety among team members.
  • Performs other duties, tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

Job Qualifications

  • Valid certificate - EN4179 @ NAS410 @ PCN) in own field of work.
  • Certification as a Level 2 NDT Technician in at least two methods (UT, MT, PT, RT, ET) from a recognized certification body
  • 2 years’ experience in the MRO industry or a related field of inspection.
  • Professional qualification (Diploma or Professional Certificate) with background in engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical).
  • Strong knowledge of NDT techniques, procedures, and applicable codes and standards.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with team members and clients.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a high-pressure environment.

Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices related to NDT and the MRO industry.
