The role

For the Defense Engineering & Technology organization in the Netherlands we are looking for a Technology Project Manager. The Technology Project Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing multiple streams of work and collaboratively planning with partner organizations. They exercise control and coordination to ensure seamless integration and alignment of efforts across various teams and initiatives.
With a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach, the Technology Project Manager actively identifies potential risks and implements strategies to mitigate them effectively. By fostering open communication and collaboration, they encourage team members to contribute their insights and perspectives, creating a dynamic and inclusive planning environment.
One of the key responsibilities of the Technology Project Manager is to provide regular progress updates to stakeholders, including executives, clients, and partner organizations. They understand the importance of clear and transparent communication in building trust and maintaining alignment with project objectives. Additionally, they work closely with monitoring teams to ensure that project milestones are met and deliverables are on track.
 

In this role, you will:

•    Compile and maintain Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS) and schedules/plans for the projects in the Netherlands
•    Drumbeat the teams’ progress against schedules and costs
•    Monitor interdependencies between projects in the UK and Netherlands. 
•    Collaboratively plan with partner organizations and consortia.
•    Analyse and report on progress, scope and costs against the baseline
•    Monitor resource management for the project
•    Proactively identify areas for management attention
•    Support in developing recovery plans where deviations demand
•    Prepare project stakeholders communication, internally and work with the finance team to prepare governmental reporting
•    Facilitate Risk and Opportunity Management activities, owning the risk register to control and mitigate the risk exposure of the project
•    Establish and maintain robust document management in the project and towards stakeholders;
•    Support creation, coordination and delivery of (change) proposals for management or stakeholder;
•    Manage project updates in applicable compilation systems and tools;
•    Maintain the project action log and support timely closure of the tasks;
•    Facilitate the change control process of the project and maintain the change log;
•    Co-ordinate purchase order request activities, pulling together inputs from technical team and driving through to formal approval and guiding new suppliers through the registration process.
•    Implement and manage security & Export compliancy measures into the projects as required and monitor work performed according to these measures.

You are pro-active, self-starting and entrepreneurial, have good communication skills and you are a team player. You have worked before in a multidisciplinary environment and are familiar with Technology Development. You are willing to learn and are able to arrange things. You will bring your passion and expertise/ talent for what you do along with the following skills, experience, qualifications and attributes:
•    Relevant technical qualifications (Bachelor, Master or equivalent) or a relevant level of experience to perform the engineering tasks 
•    Experience in supporting complex technical projects in an engineering or technology environment
•    Experience building complex schedules with dependencies, identify critical path and manage change
•    PMP, IPMA or equivalent certification
