The role
The Procurement Specialist Sourcing Manager is responsible for managing all procurement expenditure and product related services relation for a specific development program at GKN Fokker Aerospace Hoogeveen (Netherlands). This will require the development of the Strategic Relationships with both existing and future Suppliers, ensuring that the program requirements are satisfied and in accordance with the appropriate timeline, quality standards, delivering a highly capable and cost effective supply base. The role will require an in-depth knowledge of electronics, sensors and systems integrated into hybrid structures build from composite and metallic materials. A key element of the role is to ensure there is a seamless interface with program management and engineering to ensure there is a robust supply chain in place for both development and series production that can operate and deliver products in short lead-time, which will require an entrepreneurial approach to satisfy the program requirements. While working with the existing global commodity team and local procurement teams.
This role is for 12 until 18 months.
Key responsibilities
The Procurement Specialist Sourcing Manager will be responsible for sourcing for a relevant program within a region and development of a dedicated supply chain that meets the needs of program management and in close collaboration with engineering reporting to the Global Category Director:
• Take Leadership for sourcing activities in coordination with costing and engineering to drive a competitive advantage for GKN Aerospace.
• Prepare data and plans for relevant internal reviews.
• Ensuring the cost, quality and time-oriented supply of all required products and services in line with the respective business plans, budgets, targets, and strategies.
• Work in partnership with the Procurement Emerging Markets team to ensure we are meeting the customers’ expectations on developing a Strategic Global Supply Chain network.
• Contract Negotiation: Cost, quality, delivery, cash, compliance and ensure full adherence to the GKN standard contracting terms and conditions, whilst ensuring any specific customer requirements are captured and flowed down to mitigate any exposure and risk to GKN.
• Contract Management: Ensure there is a strict governance in accordance with the contractual obligations between GKN and the relevant supplier via regular contract reviews to ensure supplier contract performance is in line with contractual requirements.
• Conflict Management: In the event of non-performance to the contractual terms, manage all areas of the contract ensuring that as a minimum GKN are held harmless.
• Management of delegated budgets, when applicable
What do you need to be successful in this role?
- Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business, or CIPS Membership.
- Several years’ experience in procurement/category management with specific experience in sensors, electronics and systems is preferred.
- Ability to interact with people of different levels inside/ outside the company and to operate within a team to reach team goals and business objectives.
