About the opportunity

Within the GKN Aerospace Defense Business line we are looking for 2 Manufacturing Engineers (ME) to deliver robust and predictable production process solutions for our products. You will be part of the business line organization. You will deliver your results, and manage the hand-over to the Operating Site MEs by means of the GKN Life Cycle Management process to assure an industrialized production line that robustly delivers compliant products to the customers, meeting our cost and profit goals.

Job summary

The New Product Introduction (NPI) / Project Manufacturing Engineer (ME) is to support Technology, Development and Programs to deliver industrialization solutions utilizing high level engineering, lean and problem solving skills for F-35 and Missile projects. Accountable for delivering robust, capable, balanced industrialization process solutions for the end to end value chain. 

 

One of the positions is temporary (minimum of one year) and one is a structurele position.

Job responsibilities

  • Exemplifying a safety-first mind-set and ensuring compliance with the GKN Aerospace Health, Safety and Environmental policies and standards.
  •  Responsible for industrial engineering support of manufacturing development and integration for production. 
  • Responsible for the implementation of industrial layout solutions, from original concept through to production. Design these processes implementing lean tools and methods in accordance with the GKN standard lean tool suite.
  • Accountable for the implementation and utilization of the GKN APQP/Zero Defect Management tool sets for the Life Cycle Gate Management 

Job qualifications

•    Experience in Industrial Engineering, with a professional qualification / background (master or bachelor degree) in engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, Chemical).
•    Experience in Product Development / Process introduction (industrialization) & existing production process improvements.
•    Ability to clearly communicate and influence people, build trust and establish effective working relationships within a global organization.
•    Minimum of 5 years of experience in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering.
•    Working knowledge of quality system models such as ISO9000, AS9100, or D1-9000.
•    Project / Program Management skills.
•    Fluent in English language, both written and spoken.

What we offer

This role is scaled in medior L2 with a minimum of 4743 and a maximum of 5692 on fulltime basis (40 hours). Depending on your experience, you can also be classified in the junior or senior scale.
