Site HR manager / HR director

At GKN Aerospace we are looking for a Site HR Manager / HR Director for 1 of our largest plants (Fokker Elmo Hoogerheide) who can start in the short term.

The position is for the duration of at least two years, for 40 hours per week.

Recently it has been announced that we will transfer all activities towards our multi-campus site in Papendrecht. The HR Manager will motivate the staff to continue their current activities at this new site. For that new policies has been set into place and new arrangements have to be established. This transfer will become effective in the second half of 2023. The Site HR Manager is responsible for partnering with the Site Leadership Team to understand Operations goals and strategies. This to identify opportunities and to increase organizational effectiveness and productivity. The Site HR manager role is hybrid as he / she is also responsible for developing and executing human capital strategies and initiatives that enable growth, innovation, overall organizational effectiveness, and change management. Additionally, he / she drives corporate initiatives with the local team and communicates how these programs fit in with the overall business and HR strategies. This position reports directly to the VP Human Resources for the EU region.

Job Purpose

We are looking for a real change manager. Where your strength is being able to lead a large and complex organization with change processes at the interface of business and HR. You are good at reducing complexity and increasing support. In addition, you are strong on a project basis. The HR Roadmap is fixed. It is about being the connector in the transition from Fokker Elmo Hoogerheide to GKN Aerospace Papendrecht.

  • Takes initiative to build and cultivate strong partnerships with site leaders to offer thought leadership on organizational and people-related strategies and execution to ensure a high-performing and engaged workforce.
  • Drive goal achievement by creating and implementing HR initiatives tailored to business needs.
  • Act as an influential advisor and a credible Human Resources Leader / Business Partner through identifying and driving change by owning end-to-end execution of all HR functional work.
  • Ensure team attracts, develops and retains high-quality talent at all levels in a continuous pipeline.
  • Act as a thought partner for Site leadership team to ensure the people and organization strategy is a key enabler to achieving site goals.
  • Partner with HR Center of Excellence to provide proactive guidance and support of HR initiatives that align the human resources strategies in support of key business strategies and initiatives.
  • Leads cultural change through strategic HR programs in collaboration with business leaders with a strong emphasis on talent management and development.
  • Present relevant metrics and insights to the business to drive the focus and execution of Human Resources strategies.
  • Be both strategic and hands-on, providing Human Resources expertise in the areas of organizational development, coaching/development, change management, compensation, conflict management, employee relations, and more.

What do you need to become succesful?

  • HR Program Management / HR Management / HR Director experience (8 – 10 years)
  • Experience in change, leading and developing teams (both in terms of span of control, and in terms of complexity).
  • Business and organizational sensitivity.
  • Experience in setting up and leading multidisciplinary projects.
  • Persistent, strong drive for results, creative .
  • "Why not? instead of "Yes, but" attitude.
  • Experience in working in complex matrix organizations.
  • Be able to start in the short term.
