The Role

Support operational and development Programs to enable and deliver zero defect enabling tooling solutions. Accountable for delivering robust, capable manufacturing processes through the design, development and introduction of tooling solutions for part fabrication and assembly.

Responsibilities

  • Exemplifying a safety-first mind-set and ensuring compliance with the GKN Aerospace Health. Safety and Environmental policies and standards;
  • Develop tooling solutions to complex problems;
  • Responsible for technical support of manufacturing development and integration for production.  Resolve issues pertaining to tooling vendor schedule and/or quality;
  • Utilize root cause analysis, preventative and corrective action to reduce/eliminate non-conformances;
  • Responsible for the implementation of tooling, from original concept through to production. Design this tooling for high degree of process capability utilizing the GKN standard Zero Defect Manufacturing (ZDM) tool suite to demonstrate as such;
  • Accountable for tooling development, tool fabrication quotes, tooling input for new product quotes, tooling configuration changes that involve cost estimation, schedule coordination, and implementation;
  • Delivers measurable, metrics driven results in line with Operational & Program goals;
  • Maintain positive, team relationships with internal and external customers, as well as co-workers;
  • Continuously improve production processes by implementing Lean initiatives;
  • Create, develop & provide training to colleagues.

Requirements

  • MBO 4+ level
  • Extensive knowledge experience (> 5 years) in the field of electrical assembly and the content of MDPs
  • Knowledge of our organization, procedures, regulations, technical manuals, drawing, planning and quality systems
  • Professional knowledge of English verbally and in writing
  • Knowledge of and experience with the BaaN ERP system
  • Knowledge of and experience with the WDMS system
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing system, preferably at Green-Belt level
