Job Summary

Responsible and have the authority for managing specific process or range of processes. GKN sites/Business Streams that deploying the Process Approach should appoint individual process owners that are responsible for the implementation, maintenance, performance, and improvement of their process and its interaction with other processes.
The site QS Process Owner should take direction from Business Stream and/or Divisional Functions to develop processes that are aligned across the division but ensure that the process definition is live and current practice within the site QMS. QS Process Owner should operate and control an effective and efficient process.

Job Responsibilities
  • Manage and responsible for process definition, as for example, define the sequence of activities and control of them through toolkits (e.g. IT systems), training and communication.
  • Develop, issue and maintain any management system procedures and instructions;
  • Determine the assurance activities within the process to ensure its success, accordingly to appropriate regulations (such as EASA Part 21, REACH etc.), Industry standards (ISO, AS standards etc.), and GKN/GKNA governance, policies and objectives (APMS etc.);
  • Identify and manage any risks to meeting process objectives through thorough assessment of the process activities, the process inputs, it’s interactions, it’s resources and ensuring defined controls reduce the risks to an acceptable level, or eradicate them;
  • Definition & the monitoring and measuring of the effectiveness & efficiency of the process including related KPI’s ensuring these are effective measures of the intended outputs;
  • Using KPI performance data to establish quality objectives, tracking progress against process performance targets, and engage with all stakeholders as required;
  • Ensuring adequate training, support and communication to deliver the process results ensuring all related documented information is understandable to the intended users/audience;
  • Setting goals for the process and establishing directives for its continuous improvement aligned with the needs and requirements of the business;
  • Determining when and how the process interacts with other processes and establishing agreements with
  • other process owners to ensure successful interaction(s);
  • Maintain the process definition output media, as defined by the Site Quality Lead, and supporting process QMS documents, communicate the process and it's results to all interested parties, internal and external as required. Make available necessary resources and information to deliver the outputs;
  • Collect objective evidence of conformity for audits and work with GKNA Site/BS and Divisional Quality departments/personnel in support of effective internal and external audits;
  • Solve process related problems, preventing their recurrence working with all stakeholders as required. Manage the Change Process (Change Requests), communicating process changes to the process users, assess impact/effectiveness of the change, review/adjust as required, and communicate with process users to identify and manage issues;
