We as  GKN Aerospace- Fokker Landing Gear are a fast moving company that is part of making things fly all over the world! To ensure that we have a qualified team of dedicated professionals we are looking to expand with a MRO Manager position for the Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) department. You will lead a multi-disciplinary program team that manages multiple landing gear MRO programs towards several customers. In this role, you have a pivotal role between many disciplines in the entire company.

You will be based in Helmond and report to the Program Manager, and are functionally supported by the centralized Program Office.

Key Accountabilities

  • The MRO Manager is the “face” of the MRO, representing the MRO Team, Office and Programs within GKN and being the voice of the customer.
  • In close cooperation with the MRO Group Lead, develop and execute the tactical and strategic path for the MRO department.
  • Team up with the MRO Group Lead to motivate and integrate the different parts of the MRO organization to work well and closely together.
  • New business development. Create recurring and new proposals for customers and obtain all input from the organization to be able to do so.
  • Operationally responsible for execution of the contracts within time, quality and budget and to comply with all contractual requirements.
  • Leads the multidisciplinary program team of the MRO department and steers them to ensure that timely deliveries to our customer base are met.
  • Ensures necessary facilities and enabling factors for an optimal performance of the team.
  • Identify improvement possibilities and execute these with the team.
  • MRO Manager is co-responsible for the program results, cash flow and working capital targets.
  • Ensuring that the execution is in full compliance with the contract.

Further Accountabilities


  • Communicating regularly with the customer(s) on the delivery schedule and long-term demand forecast.
  • The MRO Manager makes the required handshakes with other departments to ensure deliveries and further improvements and expedites the handshakes to ensure adherence to the contract.
  • Translating the yearly objectives into projects and targets and continuously either manage the projects or monitor the progress on the targets.
  • The MRO Manager reports on the status and progress of the MRO Programs, including a cockpit of KPI’s (With (trend) analysis and initiation of measures in case of deviations) and Risk Management within the programs as well as MRO integral.
  • Deployment and execution of the program management standards in the program team

Your Profile


  • You have strong affinity with Aircraft Maintenance.
  • You have a relevant Bachelor/ Master education or equivalent
  • You possess more than 5 years of relevant work experience
  • You have a good level of the English language
  • You preferably have a certification of IPMA D or equivalent
  • You have planning experience
  • You recognize yourself in being communicative, customer focused, analytical, result oriented
  • You can persuade others without having the hierarchical responsibility
  • You dare to challenge others and yourself
