Manufacturing Engineer Sub-Assembly

A position has become vacant within our Manufacturing Engineering (ME) department for an enthusiastic and experienced ME Assembly and Sub-Assembly. We are looking for a new colleague with passion for and experience in assembly, preferably in Aviation and/or the Aerospace Industry. Within this position, you are part of the Manufacturing Engineering team and the first Point of Contact for complex Technical Issues on the shop floor.



  • Main point of Contact for technical issues in both the sub-assembly and the assembly shop floor. Act proactively as a troubleshooter and resolve issues quickly.
  • Responsible for the preparation and managing of robust and capable (sub-)assembly process routings.
  • Accountable for product development, first article development, configuration changes, build process definition and implementation.
  • Investigate product deviations and handle them. Utilize root cause analysis, preventative and corrective action to reduce/eliminate non-conformances.
  • Implement Lean initiatives with regard to optimizing the general performance.
  • Take the lead in consulting other disciplines (e.g. Process Engineering, Quality, Production Operators and Procurement) when solving technical query’s.
  • In consultation with technicians and operators, innovate, develop, improve and implement tooling and equipment for process optimization.
  • Advice and coach mechanics and technicians by providing on the job training and support.
  • Maintain positive, team relationships with internal and external customers, as well as co-workers
  • Take Safety and Quality as a priority within your own function, the department and the company.

Your Profile


  • Technical Bachelor or Master, preferably in Aerospace or Mechanical / Automotive Engineering
  • Minimum of 3 years of work experience as an engineer in an assembly environment
  • Experience of managing New Product / Process introduction (industrialization) & existing production process improvements
  • Fluent in English language, both written and spoken
  • Ability to influence people, build trust and establish effective working relationships within a global organization
  • Proactive approach to work, taking the initiative whenever possible
  • Working knowledge of LEAN Six Sigma processes and practices
  • Green/Black belt certification is a plus
  • Good quality mind-set and strong documentation/reporting skills
  • Good communicative skills
  • Experience with ERP systems
