Job Summary


For the Technology & Engineering (T&E) department of GKN/Fokker Landing Gear, we are looking for a pragmatic Development Engineer. The T&E department is responsible for all engineering related activities that are carried out under the responsibility of Fokker Landing Gear. This includes the preparation of proposals for new programs, the development of new Landing and Arresting Gear systems, the improvement of existing Landing Gear systems and the support to the operations department, the maintenance repair and overhaul team, and the end user. It is a multi-discipline Engineering team, which results in a dynamic working environment.

Job Responsibilities


As a Development Engineer Damage & Wear Limits, you define, elaborate and substantiate repairs to the design, either for the operator of the helicopter or for the maintenance organization.


Your most important responsibilities are:


  • Define repair procedures for landing gear components
  • Provide justification of the repair in terms of compliance with strength and functional requirements
  • Checking of work by coworkers
  • Provide engineering support to suppliers

Your Profile


You are pro-active, self-starting and entrepreneurial, have good communication skills and you are a team player. You like to work in a multidisciplinary environment and are familiar with technology development, production engineering, testing and certification. You are willing to learn and are able to arrange things.


  • Bachelor in Aerospace Engineering, Automotive Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Good analytical skills in combination with a practical attitude.
  • Affinity with complex technical systems like landing gear.
  • Critical mind-set / conscious of quality.
  • Capable of writing technical documentation in English.
  • Knowledge of materials and processes, preferably in an aerospace environment.
  • Knowledge of mechanical and hydraulic (aerospace) components is a recommendation.
