Who are we?

GKN Fokker Landing Gear is part of GKN Fokker Technologies and is active in the field of Landing Gear and related systems. This includes the design and development, production and assembly of complete Landing Gear systems, but also the repair and re-assembly of systems in use. Fokker Landing Gear is with her ± 250 employees active in the F16 Fighter Aircraft, the Apache Combat helicopter, the F35 Lightning II (JSF), the Bombardier Dash 8 Q400 and the multipurpose NH90 Helicopter. About the department Technology and Engineering

The department Technology and Engineering (located in Helmond, the Netherlands) is responsible for all engineering related activities that are carried out by (or under the responsibility of) Fokker Landing Gear. This includes the preparation of proposals for new programs, the development of new Landing Gear components and systems, the improvement of existing Landing Gear systems and their manufacturing processes (including the support of manufacturing operations) and supporting our landing gear customers and end users. You will work in a dynamic, multi discipline, design and manufacturing engineering team.

 

About the position

The common goal of this position is to get an optimum solution for the product under development which complies with the applicable requirements. As Development Engineer Composites you define, elaborate and implement changes to the design and develop Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul instructions.

The Development Engineer solves issues within the qualified design by root cause analysis and practical problem solving.

 

About you:

  • You have a Bachelor or Master Degree in aerospace-, mechanical- or automotive engineering;
  • You have experience in engineering in an aerospace or comparable environment, preferably including development of composite products and/or materials;
  • You are analytical but also practical, with a critical mind-set and quality conscious;
  • You are a team player, capable of combining the knowledge and skills of materials, design and manufacturing specialists;
  • You are fluent in English;
  • You are willing to learn and to adapt.
