Job Responsibilities
The Role
As Managing Director, you will have full accountability for the overall performance, profitability, as well as the operational and strategic development of the business. Reporting to the Senior Vice President of the Business Area of Material Solutions within GKN Aerospace, you will lead the local management team and ensure the company achieves its operational, financial, quality, and customer objectives.
You will be responsible for maintaining a strong culture of safety, compliance, customer focus, and continuous improvement while supporting the company's growth ambitions within the aerospace market.
This position requires a leader who can successfully balance strategic business leadership with a strong operational presence and a passion for people development.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the overall business strategy in alignment with group objectives.
- Deliver sustainable financial performance and operational excellence.
- Drive improvements in safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
- Lead and develop a high-performing management team and engaged workforce.
- Ensure compliance with aerospace regulations, customer requirements, and industry standards.
- Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers, employee representatives, and key stakeholders.
- Support business growth through customer engagement, operational capability development, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead investment, modernization, and transformation projects.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation.
- Represent the company internally within the Group and externally to customers and industry partners.
Job Qualifications
Candidate Profile
We are looking for a proven manufacturing leader with strong business acumen and a track record of delivering results in demanding industrial environments.
Qualifications and Experience
- University degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Industrial Management, or a related discipline.
- Significant leadership experience within manufacturing or process industries.
- Proven experience with full P&L responsibility.
- Strong knowledge of operational excellence, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience leading organizational change and business transformation.
- Understanding of complex manufacturing environments where quality, traceability, and regulatory compliance are critical.
- Experience working within an international group structure.
- Aerospace, casting, metallurgical, or highly regulated industrial experience is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
