Project Title
Manufacturing Inventory Locations & Floor Consumption
Project Overview
This 12-month internship offers an exciting hands-on opportunity for a motivated individual to redefine the process by why which we receive, store and consume raw materials. Currently today, it is perceived that we do not have enough storage for raw materials, however we have many empty racks throughout the site. It is perceived that if the racking is not within the dock area, it does not belong to “STORES” inventory and thus has to be issued to the floor. Our BOMs in ASI now have the ability to consume from a specific inventory location thanks to a recent ASI update, and we need to work to eliminate non-order issue materials to consumption from a specific location.
Benefit of the Internship
- Mentorship from experienced supply chain, procurment, logistics professionals.
- Ownership of a technical documentation project with lasting business value.
- Insight into aerospace facility operations and procurement processes.
- Possibility of full-time employment or future placement based on performance and business needs.
Main Project Deliverables
- Map all locations in the factory with visual identification of the storage location, rack number, etc.
- Define a primary storage location for all materials in ASI.
- Working with Mike Hawkins or ME, in conjunction with PFEP, update BOMs to consume materials directly from the locations they are in.
