Garden Grove Site Sustainability Program Improvement & Implementation
Project Overview
Join our team as an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Sustainability Engineer Intern, where you will play a crucial role in developing, deploying and improving our sustainability initiatives. This project aims to enhance recycling and sustainability efforts including, but not limited Orange County Waste & Recycling Programs by leveraging innovative solutions to reduce waste and promote environmental health.

Main Project Deliverables
- Assessment Report: Conduct a comprehensive assessment of current recycling practices and identify areas for improvement.
- Implementation Plan: Develop and implement strategies to enhance recycling and sustainability efforts, including organic waste recycling, composting, and hazardous waste management.
- Training Programs: Design and deliver training sessions for staff and community members on best practices in recycling and sustainability.
- Compliance Documentation: Ensure all activities comply with local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
- Progress Reports: Regularly update stakeholders on project progress, challenges, and successes.

Job Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Currently holds 3.0 GPA or higher.
- Available to work 30+ hours per week.
- Foundational understanding of OSHA, EPA regulations, and sustainability principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work independently and as part of a team
- US Person per ITAR regulations and able to comply with export compliance requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous internship or work experience in environmental health, safety, or sustainability.
- Projects: Experience with recycling programs, waste management, or sustainability initiatives.
- Certifications: Certifications such as OSHA 30-Hour, HAZWOPER, or similar are a plus.
Compensation Data
Pay Rate: $25.00/hr
