Job Summary

GKN Aerospace is a global leader in transparency systems—designing and manufacturing aircraft windows and canopies for commercial, defense, and military platforms. As Electrical Controls Engineer, you’ll lead the planning and execution of facility construction and expansion projects that support this mission-critical work. You’ll manage budgets, schedules, safety, and compliance while coordinating with contractors, regulatory agencies, and internal teams. This role is critical to ensuring our infrastructure meets the demands of high-precision aerospace production.

💼 Salary Range: $84,048 – $126,071

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead construction projects for new facilities and expansions, from initial planning through final delivery

  • Develop and manage project plans, budgets, schedules, and milestones to meet scope, cost, and quality targets

  • Serve as the primary liaison with contractors, regulatory agencies, and internal stakeholders

  • Monitor construction progress, lead regular status meetings, and resolve issues proactively

  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and customer-specific requirements

  • Provide executive-level updates and progress reports to internal and external stakeholders

  • Support facility security approvals and export compliance processes related to construction

  • Build strong relationships with subcontractors and vendors to support project goals

  • Ensure infrastructure supports specialized manufacturing processes for transparency systems—including lamination, forming, coating, and inspection

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in manufacturing machine development (feedback control, troubleshooting, programming, system design)

  • U.S. Person status per ITAR regulations and ability to meet export compliance requirements

 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI), facility startups, or work transfers in aerospace manufacturing

  • Professional Engineering (P.E.) license or PMP certification

  • Experience in commercial or industrial construction, especially in manufacturing environments

  • Familiarity with infrastructure requirements for aerospace transparency systems

  • Strong communication and leadership skills with a commitment to safety, quality, and customer service

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project scheduling tools

  • Ability to assess project timelines, identify risks, and implement solutions

  • Experience leading transformational or complex launch projects in manufacturing
