Job Summary

The (AFSO) Assistant Facility Security Officer reports directly to the FSO and assists in the development, implementation, and maintenance of security procedures as required by the Cleared Facility, the Department of Defense (DOD), the Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office (DISCO), the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) and the National Industrial Security Manual (NISPOM).

Job Responsibilities

•    Assists the FSO with the overall security program
•    Processes new employee security clearances
•    Tracks security clearance investigations and performs administrative support functions, including Joint Personnel Adjudication System (JPAS) and DISS and NISS administration.
•    Provides security briefings, debriefings, and awareness training for site personnel
•    Processes outgoing visit requests and certifications
•    Review required forms, processes, and screens security forms (SF85 and SF86)
•    Ensures document control security by safeguarding classified documents in accordance with the NISPOM and through coordination with government agencies, CWU management, and the FSO
•    Oversee company’s completion and retention of personnel security clearance records
•    Support other company security disciplines as needed in connection with classified/secure projects: Legal, Information Technology and Corporate Communications Skills and Qualifications
•    Assist the FSO with staying compliant with the companies Special Security Agreement (SSA)
•    Work together with the TCO, ECO, and other relevant company departments to assure there is no FOCI

Required Qualifications:
•    Defense Counterintelligence & Security Agency (DCSA)-qualified FSO or 2 years’ experience in security programs as AFSO or in a related field
•    Must be a US Citizen due to program security clearance requirements and/or SSA requirements.
•    Must have an active DOD Secret Clearance. 

 Preferred Qualifications:
•    GKN experience
•    Preferred Bachelor’s Degree
•    Should have completed applicable DCSA courses
•    Preferred Certifications include any of the following: FSO, CPSO, ISP
•    Strong knowledge of JPAS, DISS & NISS government programs, SF85 and SF86, DD 254 and DD 441, and SF 328
•    In-depth knowledge of NISPOM requirements, have strong computer skills and cyber knowledge
•    Must complete or have completed required training, including the Essentials of Industrial Security Management (EISM) and other related required training
•    Must be able to interpret and implement security policy, provide guidance, oversight and assistance to company personnel
•    Must be able to demonstrate by knowledge and experience the ability to manage and oversee comprehensive Security Compliance Program
•    Must have a basic understanding of Special Security Agreements
•    Must have excellent written and oral communications skills
•    Must have strong interpersonal skills, work independently as well as with a team
