Job Summary

The Accounts Receivable Generalist provides financial, clerical and administrative services to ensure efficient, timely and accurate payment and invoicing of accounts.  As well as handling any overdue payments according to the company’s policies. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensuring accuracy and efficiency of operations, creation and processing of project invoicing, tracking and monitoring of incoming payments, as well as verifying and posting receipts
  • Posts customer payments by recording cash, checks, and credit card transactions
  • Maintains detailed records concerning invoices, debits, and credits
  • Managing customer accounts receivable by ensuring timely invoicing and receipt of payments
  • Processes project invoicing to customers in coordination with project management teams Consolidate invoicing backup to support billed values and customer requirements
  • Works with project management teams to reconcile and correct any project or invoicing discrepancies to facilitate improved company cash flow and customer relations
  • Monitors records of aged and outstanding receivable invoices in support of accounting balance sheet reconciliations
  • Verifies validity of account discrepancies by obtaining and investigating information from sales, trade promotions, customer service departments, and from customers; resolves valid or authorized invoicing deductions by entering adjusting entries
  • Resolves collections issues by examining customer payment plans, payment history, credit line; coordinating contact with project management teams
  • Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential
  • Responding to customers who are overdue on payments, and ensuring timely payment of invoices
  • Ability to research, in a timely manner, any unapplied receipts on various subsidiary ledgers
  • Creating and updating custom reports in MS Excel
  • Develop and process monthly journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Process and reconcile intercompany activity on a monthly basis.
  • Performs collections and ensuring timely payment of invoices from customers
  • Performs accounts reconciliation at month-end
  • Performs intercompany reconciliations
  • Performs other duties as required 
     

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in accounting and/or finance or 8 years of experience in accounts receivable lieu of education. 
  • 2 years of hands-on experience in Accounting systems for a manufacturing organization(preferably aerospace, defense or automotive)
  • U.S. Person per ITAR regulations to comply with export compliance and site SSA requirements.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with employees, superiors, and customers.
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interface with all levels of management 
  • Strong problem solving skills essential, including the ability to conduct thorough research in order to identify issues 
  • Detail-oriented, with exceptional organizational and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to formulate solutions and resolve issues in timely manner.
  • Familiar with ERP environment 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a complex and matrix environment
  • Excellent customer services skills building effective cross-functional partnerships.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills.
  • Good understanding of the Aerospace industry
