What you’ll do 

Job Summary

The Supply Chain Engineer creates an ‘able and enabled’ bridge between Suppliers and Development, support Fokker’s outsourcing strategy to increase Fokker’s flexibility and focus on the Fokker added value. They will professionalize outsourcing management as part of the Supplier Account Teams (SAT’s) and strategic product family team and participate in non-recurring projects in early design phases to secure design-for-manufacturing and technology availability from suppliers.  This position functionally reports to the Industrialization Manager and operationally to the Procurement Manager.

Job Responsibilities

- Review design specifications on manufacturability. 
- Drafting of bills of material and enter them into the computer system.
-Facilitate early supplier involvement at new products and processes.
- Execute the NPI deliverables: manufacturing flow, process FMEA, test tools and coverage, first article inspection and evaluation report, supplier output control, and test standards.
- Perform NPI Supplier Selection through auditing.
- Implement improvement actions at supplier on quality complaints and nonconforming products and processes.
- Resolve technical problems with the aim to significantly improve performance, cost and schedule.
- Develop and implement production and tooling methodologies to reduce cost and improve process efficiencies in compliance with regulations.-     Integrate technical solutions across multiple disciplines to ensure process and product reliability.
- Develop and integrate manufacturing plans, including detail work order creation for primary structure, secondary structure, and systems installation.
- Coordinate with life-cycle product team, other project partner representatives, and cross-functional team members, including design engineering, stress engineering, liaison engineering, industrial engineering, planning, quality engineering, procurement, program management and materials & process technology.
- Apply engineering principles and materials and production techniques, including composite parts manufacturing, sheet metal parts manufacturing, metal parts machining and assemblies for commercial and military aerospace industry.
- Apply advanced problem solving methods, including Root Cause Analysis (including Ishikawa and 8D) and FMEA Various production and quality requirements laid down in the organization's products.
- Perform configuration and change management processes using PDM-applications.
- Use knowledge of procedures, business rules and safety, quality, environmental, security and export compliance regulations.
- Utilize understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T (Geometric dimensioning and tolerance); performing engineering modeling using CATIA V4 / V5 and Unigraphics NX2 / NX5. 
Required Qualifications  

- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field required.
- 7+ years of experience in a supply chain role in a manufacturing environment, including some experience in the aerospace industry; this includes knowledge of manufacturing, quality control, and planning processes as well as ability to understand manufacturing engineering processes and to read and interpret blueprints.
- Ability to travel 25% of the time, mostly domestic but occasional international, required.  
- Must be a U.S. Person.

Preferred Qualifications 

- Experience in machining or sheet metal manufacturing/supply chain preferred.
- Lean/Six Sigma training, experience, and/or certification preferred.
- Strong mathematical skills and the ability to communicate orally and in writing. 
- GKN experience.
