Job Summary

 

The Sr. Industrial Engineer will provide Engineering capability to operational and development Programs to enable and deliver zero defect projects utilizing engineering and problem solving skills. Accountable for delivering robust, capable manufacturing process technology as it applies to materials, tooling, part fabrication and assembly.

Job Responsibilities

 

•    Exemplifying a safety-first mind-set and ensuring compliance with the GKN Aerospace Health, Safety and Environmental policies and standards.
•     Responsible for the development of technical solutions to complex problems within GKN Aerospace, our customers and suppliers
•     Responsible for industrial engineering support of manufacturing development and integration for production.
•    Implementation of industrial layout solutions, from original concept through to production.
•    Design these processes implementing lean tools and methods in accordance with the GKN standard lean tool suite.    
•    Accountable for new product quotes and manufacturing system change proposals.
•    Participate in industrialization projects, leading both internal and external (vendor) resources.
•    Manage industrialization projects, leading both internal and external (vendor) resources. 
•    Deliver technical support of manufacturing process development and integration for production. 
•    Utilize root cause analysis, preventative and corrective action to reduce/eliminate non-conformances.
•    Coordinating and acquiring the required permits from relevant governing bodies.
•    Maintain positive, team relationships with internal and external customers, as well as co-workers

Job Qualifications

 

Required Qualifications:

 


•    Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering or related degree, or in lieu of degree, 7+ years of experience in Industrial Engineering.
•    5+ years of experience in Industrial Engineering
•    Must be a US Person (US Citizen or Green Card holder) per program requirements

 

Additional Qualifications:


•    Industrial Engineering experience with new construction
•    Experience with facilites and/or machine maintenance is strongly preferred.
•    Drafting and/or AutoCAD experience
•    Root Cause and corrective action experience
•    Working knowledge of quality system models such as ISO9000, AS9100, or D1-9000
•    Training and/or experience in lean tools and techniques (Value Stream Mapping, product flow, 3P, Inventory strategies, point of use)
•    Experience in automation, robotics and lights out manufacturing
•    Project / Program Management
•    Familiarity with AS9145 APQP process or equivalent
•    Strong communication and data analysis skills
•    Able to work in a strong team environment
•    Proactive, self-starter
•    Fluent in English language, both written and spoken
