Job Summary

We are currently seeking a dedicated Project Manager to ensure that project timelines and deliverables are successfully met at budgeted cost. 

Job Responsibilities


•    Create, track and manage a detailed project plan and drive course-corrective actions as necessary during the project to achieve on time completion
•    Ensure ongoing integration of all project elements, including NPI (engineering and quality) and industrial readiness (site/operations) and maintain coordination of all functions/departments involved 
•    Track and manage (against a clearly understood and disseminated budget) achievement of the overall project financial business case, including target recurring cost, non-recurring engineering/tooling and CapEx 
•    Implement the Engines best practice project implementation best practices and templates
•    The project manager will report to the Program Director, Aviation Repair
•    The project will operate under a senior leadership project steering committee consisting of the Director MRO & Parts Repair, VP Business Area and Engines COO
•    Key project stakeholders (and likely points of contact for the project manager) will include:
-    Site leadership including site director, operations director and group leader, finance director
-    Site industrial engineering department, manufacturing/repair engineers (including site CME) and quality engineering and management
-    Business line NPI engineers and business line CME
-    Business line commercial leader, sales and customer service leader, and BD and strategy leader
•    Manage and achieve overall project plan, including all relevant functions/disciplines to achieve budgeted timeline and costs/business case
•    Adheres to and implements at El Cajon site GKN Aerospace Engines project management best practice toolkit
•    Responsible for undertaking any other activity required to ensure successful delivery of the project(s)
•    Primary accountability is to 24K IBR project, with other projects to be added to accountabilities as needed

Job Qualifications


Required Experience:
•    Bachelor’s degree in Business, Program Management, Engineering or related fields 
•    3 years of program management experience or manufacturing engineering experience, preferably within the aerospace industry.
•    Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations and/or program requirements   

Preferred Experience
•    Either completed or registered for acknowledged Program Management Certification
•    Experience of MRO and/or component repair 
•    Ability to create, manage and execute a project plan (and use Microsoft Project tool)
•    Strong communication skills
•    Ability to achieve by influencing others
•    Experience in commercial, engineering or operations within the Aerospace industry
•    Ability to build relationships with customers and other internal/external stakeholders
•    Financial acumen
•    Understanding of the business models within Aerospace
