Job Summary

 

The NPI-Project Lead is responsible to the Program (on behalf of the Chief Manufacturing Engineer) that goals are achieved and results are delivered in accordance with NPI directive. Full responsibility to develop and establish logic and planning of work so that goals in accordance with the NPI process (IR gates) are achieved.

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Develop and establish logic and planning of work so that goals in accordance with the NPI process (IR gates) are achieved from LCG4 to LCG7
  • Work with the Product Group Directors to ensure the Industrial Architecture during an NPI is robust, delivers the customer requirements, and uses available technology to give a competitive advantage.
  • Support the prep. & bid phase (IR1.0 to IR3.0) up to LCG3 and beyond where required.
  • Ensure a capable industrialised Architecture is handed over to the CME in a structured and coherent manner.
  • Help produce a technology portfolio that can drive bottom line improvements to the programme.
  • Ensure strong links between the business and its customers.
  • On behalf of CME lead a team responsible for robust manufacturing process selection, implementation & control of products to meet stakeholder requirements.
  • Globally develop the project management and planning tools for NPI

Job Qualifications

 

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • 3+ Years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations and/or program requirements.  


Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • GKN experience
  • Aeropspace industry experience
  • Experience in an MRO organization is strongly preferred
  • Strong experience of project management as well as leading and coaching people
  • Working knowledge of quality system models such as ISO9000, AS9100, or D1-9000
  • Experience from cross-functional work
  • Experience of demonstrate the ability to work, and deliver, under own initiative.
  • Experience to work on the complete range of GKN Aerospace programmes, both civil and military.
  • Experience to work successfully within a matrix/global organization and work across a wide range of levels, able to influence without direct authority
  • Experience from problem solving and decision-making skills and a high degree of common sense.
  • Increasingly able to provide Technical input at all levels of work
  • Identifies and anticipates technical problems and offers solutions
  • Drives to complete the job on time and continually searches for better ways of doing things
  • Understands situations by analysing them logically and uses information in a systematic way identifying appropriate course of action for resolution.
  • Ability to apply complex and non-routine analysis
  • Competent member of the technical community with a good understanding of other disciplines
  • Acts without supervision in own area whilst able to supervise others.
  • Applies knowledge and skills to a range of activities
  • Understands the formal and informal structure of the business
  • Provides support to the technical community and show commercial awareness at local level
