Job Summary

Performs a variety of engineering work in planning, design and modification of fixtures, tools, and manufacturing processes.  Resolves production problems and completes documentation on assigned parts

Job Responsibilities


•             Responsible for the development of in-process models to support manufacturing work instruction and NC programming activities.
•             take existing customer models and reverse engineer the model to depict in process steps
•             Analyzes and revises existing tool drawings to simplify the manufacturing process.
•             Exemplifying a safety-first mind-set and ensuring compliance with the GKN Aerospace Health, Safety and Environmental policies and standards.
•             Responsible for the development of technical solutions to complex tooling problems within GKN Aerospace.
•             Deliver technical support of manufacturing engineering for development and integration of tooling for production. 
•             Maintain positive, team relationships with internal customers, as well as co-workers
•             Development of NX models to support NC Programming solutions .
•             Provides timely and quality service to internal customers.

Job Qualifications


Required Qualifications:

•             Degree in Engineering (manufacturing or aerospace) or equivalent
•             5+ years of experience in tool design/design for manufacturing in an aerospace manufacturing environment.  
•             Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations


Additional Qualifications:

•    Must possess thorough knowledge of analytical mathematics and geometry, with a strong background in drawing interpretations.
•    Working knowledge of GD&T
•    Working knowledge of NX CAD/CAM software
•    Working knowledge of MS desktop software applications
•    Working knowledge of quality system models such as ISO9000, AS9100, or D1-9000
•    Training and/or experience in lean tools and techniques (Practical Problem Solving, A3, PFMEA and /or Fishbone diagrams)
•    Project / Program Management
•    Familiarity with AS9145 APQP process or equivalent
•    Ability to read, write and comprehend blueprints, ASME Y14.5
•    Ability to use test equipment and inspection equipment
•    CAD and or various computer systems, NX preferred
•    Ability to communicate clearly and concisely    
•    Fluent in English language, both written and spoken
