Job Summary
Perform analysis, drive continuous improvement projects, define methodology / standard work, manage and monitor performance in the area of logistics and material flow at site level. The role can cover the following (all or partially): Inbound / Receiving, internal material movements, warehousing, outbound / shipping, freight/transport management, cycle counting, inventory management, transactional activities, packaging
Job Responsibilities
• Coordinate inbound, warehouse, and outbound activities to ensure material availability and on-time delivery to internal and external customers.
• Monitor daily logistics performance and resolve shortages, delivery issues, transportation delays, and material flow disruptions.
• Support production by ensuring timely material replenishment and adherence to line-side stocking strategies.
• Lead cycle count programs, investigate inventory discrepancies, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Monitor inventory health metrics including excess, obsolete, slow-moving, and aging inventory.
• Partner with Planning, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Finance to maintain inventory accuracy and control.
• Maintain logistics KPIs and dashboards including inventory accuracy, on-time delivery, freight cost, warehouse productivity, inventory turns, and transportation performance.
• Analyze logistics and material flow data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for operational improvements.
• Lead and participate in Lean, Kaizen, and Supply Chain continuous improvement initiatives.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions to improve logistics performance.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, site procedures, transportation regulations, customs requirements, and trade compliance guidelines where applicable.
• Support internal and external audits related to inventory control, logistics processes, and warehouse operations.
• Act as a key user for ERP/MRP systems and support process improvements, testing, implementation, and user training.
• Maintain master data related to logistics processes, storage locations, transportation routes, and inventory controls.
Job Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- High School degree or GED equivalent.
- 3+ years of Manufacturing or Warehousing and logistics experience, including some ERP/ MRP experience.
- U.S. Person per ITAR regulations to comply with export compliance and site SSA requirements.
- This job role requires proficiency in English, both verbal and written, that is sufficient to understand and effectively follow written safety procedures, company policies, work instructions, operations manuals, and more in a manufacturing environment.
- Reliable and satisfactory attendance is an essential job function of this role and is critical in meeting operations and business needs”.
Preferred Qualifications
- GKN experience.
- SAP experience preferred.
- Experience with Value Stream Mapping and Lean Manufacturing principles preferred.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing systems and processes.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Project management experience preferred.
- APICS Basics of Supply Chain Management (BSCM) certification, or equivalent, preferred.
- Experience with transportation management systems and logistics operations.
- Knowledge of packaging processes and standards preferred.
- Experience operating or working with material handling equipment preferred.
