Job Summary

 

The purpose of this role is to lead the deployment of the Supply Chain Management strategy within the Business Line. Lead a team of operational SCM professionals to deliver functional and business objectives. Provide inputs to the strategy and creation of functional standards. Deploy standards (people, process and tools), ensure performance is monitored and aligned to business targets, and perform all Talent Management activities to attract, develop and retain talent.
The scope of the role covers the region and includes end to end information flow from customers to suppliers including planning (Integrated Business Planning), production scheduling; inventory management; end to end logistics (inbound, internal and outbound); network design

 

Job Responsibilities

 

• Role modelling a culture that is aligned to the GKN Aerospace “Great Place to Work” value drivers and Culture Principles
• Responsible for providing a safe working environment for SCM employees and for all employees in the logistic areas (receiving, warehousing, material handling and shipping)
• Co-create the GKNA SCM strategy and accountable for the deployment in the region
• Accountable for the functional management of a team of operational SCM professionals in manufacturing sites (leadership, target setting, performance review, talent management, organizational planning, recruiting/on-boarding, training and development…) – 150 to 400 SCM FTEs depending on the region – all site SCMs report functionally to the regional SCM.
• Partly Accountable and responsible for the deployment and execution of standards (people, process, tools) for (APQC)
• Partially accountable for the Working Capital performance. Provide inputs/guidance on end to end WC capital strategies, metrics, and review process. Play a key role in the inventory performance (DIO). Inventory value between 100M and 350M depending on the region.
• Responsible for the quality of master data in the local ERPs and systems, ensures stewardship with other stakeholders
• Partially accountable for the Delivery performance to the customer and the end to end logistics costs
• Responsible for the orchestration of the Integrated Business Planning process within the region (multiple top line functions, mainly programs, ops and finance)
• Partly Accountable for the total cost of the SCM function and the delivery of financial targets for the function (headcount, budgets…)
• Provide inputs to the global footprint decisions through network design activities

 

Job Qualifications

 

Required Qualifications:


• 10+ years of experience as a SCM professional with operation background and a proven record of leading team and different SCM disciplines.
• Recognized expertise on 3-4 of the following disciplines: Forecasting & Demand Planning, Scheduling and Execution, Master Data Management, Internal Flows and Warehousing, Project Management, Strategic Planning, SIOP/MPS/MRP, Inventory Management, Strategy & CI planning, Performance Monitoring, Network & Talent Management, Industry & Product acumen, Budget Management & Finance acumen, Leveraging IT solutions, Lean mind set & business excellence, End to End Supply Chain Management.
• 10+ years of experience with understanding of operational interactions related to the flow of information (customers to suppliers), the management of internal and external resources (people and manufacturing capabilities)
• 10+ years of experience with technology solutions supporting SCM and business management processes (mainly ERP)
• Member of the SCM Steerco and Talent Board
• Member of SCM Centers Of Excellence (Planning & Scheduling, Logistics)

 

Preferred Qualifications:


• GKN Experience
• Knowledge of how own team interacts with other teams at a tactical level. Can be in a complex environment (multi-cultural, multi-functional,  executive level influencing) in some regions
• A team player able to influence without direct line reports
• Supply Chain Management education preferably, with professional curriculum and certification (e.g. APICS CPIM, CSCP or equivalent)
• Background in Operations and/or Programs management
• Knowledge of SCM disciplines for which the person is not identified an “expert”
• Multi-cultural awareness depending on the region
• ERP expertise
