Job Summary

The Accounting Administrator performs accounts receivable duties with strong attention to customer service while maintaining good working relationship with external customers. They will be focusing on improving collections while minimizing aging receivables.  They are able to maintain Accounts Receivable updated and reconciled with the bank balances and sales ledger in a daily basis. 
 

Job Responsibilities

  • Daily communication with customers, external and internal, written and verbal. Positive, proactive attitude and strong communication skills required
  • Maintain SAP A/R sub ledger reconciled with A/R G/L accounts in a daily basis, accounting for all bank receipts and sales; classifying, posting and recording A/R data.
  • Research payment discrepancies between Invoices and customer payments in a timely manner.
  • Daily interaction with Customer Service and Customer A/P department focusing on minimizing customer outstanding issues and past due balances. Understand and report overdue balances and formulate collection strategies with Customer Service.
  • Daily and Weekly A/R aging monitoring, including formal meetings with Customer Service team. Able to provide critical information for the meetings and follow instructions to address to customers.
  • Identify and execute the necessary process adjustments, including G/L journal entries. Prepare monthly A/R reconciliations. 
  • Familiarity with automated A/R processes, including EDI systems and various A/P portals to upload invoices and monitor payments.
  • Performs other duties, tasks and responsibilities as assigned, including Cross Training activities.
  • Ensure the company's commitment to maintain a safe workplace and to protect the environment through the establishment and support of Company policy and adherence to various government regulations.
     

Job Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Two-year degree in Accounting, or additional 2+ years of accounting experience, required. 
  • 4+ years of accounting experience, including (a) experience in a manufacturing industry/environment and (b) SAP or other ERP system experience, required.
  • 4+ years of experience with Microsoft Excel that includes with formulas, pivot tables and Vlookups, required.
  • Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations and/or program requirements.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred.
  • SAP Fico and/or SAP S4/Hana experience preferred.
  • Accounting experience with functions such as reconciliations, balance sheets, month-end processes, running checks.
  • Strong organizational skills, must be able to communicate effectively with others, both internally and externally and perform the job in a courteous, friendly, cooperative manner.
  • Ability to work additional hours, especially during month end and other critical financial cycles. Focus on timely and accurate completion of tasks, including strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Must be able to work in an environment with firm deadlines.
  • Ability to assist in solving of problems by researching issue and providing solution(s).
  • Reliable with a good work ethic; manages their efforts to meet business needs.
  • Ability to ask for help when their efforts to address issues are not successful.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as financial policies and procedures, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.  
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.  
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, employees of the organization, and the general public.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, taxes, and percentages.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fraction, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret and extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
