Job Summary

 

Please note that whilst this role is to be offered on an initial 12 month secondment/fixed term contract basis, there is a strong liklihood that the role could go permanent, subject to satisfactory performance and the requirements of The Business.

 

An unmissable opportunity has arisen within our ME Department for a suitably qualified person to start a career within Manufacturing Engineering. 

 

The Technical Administrator (Concession Coordinator) will support the technical management of non-conformance on a legacy contract, though strong coordination with Operations and Inspectors with concession administration, generation, and updates.

 

This could be an incredible opportunity for someone coming from a manufacturing operations background who is looking for career development, however if you are an internal candidate please note that it is envisaged that this role will be working "Core" hours (8am-4.30pm Mon-Thurs, 7.45am-12.45pm Friday), and as such will not be eligible for shift allowance.

 

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Exemplifying a safety-first mind-set and ensuring compliance with the GKN Aerospace Health, Safety and Environmental policies and standards.
  • Support the development of technical solutions to problems within GKN Aerospace.
  • Support Operational and Inspector teams with administration of concession generation, including scanning of job cards, reviewing technical quality of data input, and updating the customer portal.
  • Be the main focal point for both internal and external non-conformance enquiries.
  • Drive improvement in tracking key business metrics relating to non-conformance and slow moving WIP.
  • Monitor and release slow moving WIP in relation to non-conformance.
  • Track concessions and actions, as well as action resolutions and responses.
  • Provide accurate delivery date statuses.
  • Develop understanding and ownership of where non-conforming parts are within active assemblies.

 

Job Qualifications

 

Suitable applicants must be able to demonstrate:

 

  • Completion of a time served apprenticeship/BTEC in an engineering-related subject; 
  • Previous experience gained within a manufacturing environment;
  • Strong technical knowledge, with the ability to read specifications;
  • Strong Excel skills;
  • First class communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Anyone holding, or working towards, an engineering-related HNC qualification will be of particular interest
