Job Summary

 

Based in our manufacturing centre of excellence here in East Cowes, on the beautiful Isle of Wight (with ability to work form home part of the week), and reporting into a Senior Programme Manager, the Programme Manager will be responsible for the execution of the business case and contract in line with requirements and the agreed scope. They will also support the Senior Programme Manager on one of our major programmes for all bid, contract changes, and day-to-day activities.

Job Responsibilities

 

Typical responsibilities will include:

 

    • Supports the execution of the programme (including changes) to comply with all the business case and contractual requirements for their products.
    • Responsible for continuously monitoring the performance of the allocated programs, managing off-track items and for reporting progress through the PPS.
    • Creates Programme Improvement Plans, including cost improvement, pricing initiatives, enable Zero Defects Manufacturing, redesign initiatives, gaining agreement with relevant stakeholders.
    • Provides input to make, move, buy decisions and strategic procurement decisions.
    • Supports the voice of the customer.
    • Supports the SPM in defining the vision, strategy, budget for the program to optimise cash flow, profitability and growth.
    • Adheres to all programme management standards and policies in accordance with the GKN Aerospace Programme Management framework and contribute to process development.
    • Actively executes Risk, Issue and Opportunity Management to control and mitigate the risk exposure and take advantage of opportunities.
    • Supports the SPM in the proposal process.
    • Supporting the SPM with planning and performance of Life Cycle Gate, including preceding Reviews.
    • Supporting the SPM with Sales / Demand Plan and initiating demand management for serial purchase orders.
    • Supporting the SPM with any other activity required to ensure successful delivery of the program.

 

Job Qualifications

 

Suitable applicants will be able to demonstrate:

 

  • Significant experience within a similar role in the Aerospace Manufacturing Industry;
  • Developed communication skills; articulate and diplomatic, with the proven ability to effectively manage the expectations and demands of a major global customer;
  • Commercially savvy;
  • A background in aerospace manufacturing operations, with the ability to understand complicated engineering builds;
  • Willingness to spend at least 3 days per week in the office; 
  • Willing and able to travel to customer sites when required.
