Job Responsibilities
In this pivotal position, you will create and optimise NC programs for our dedicated 5-Axis area. Using Catia V5, Vericut, Alphacam, and many more software systems to produce high-quality machined components.
Leveraging your knowledge of Siemens 840D CNC controllers to maximise production efficiency and quality. You’ll work closely with 7-Axis robotic NDT systems and flow waterjet cutting technologies as well as working on composite design to produce Cloth cutting programs and laser projection files for the sites lay-up process. Your programming expertise will directly influence the performance, reliability, and competitiveness of GKN’s aerospace components, supporting both new product industrialisation and scaling existing production volumes.
Familiarity with PLM and ERP systems will ensure effective program management within our digital manufacturing environment.
Job Qualifications
Suitable candidates will be able to deminstrate:
Essential
- HNC qualification, or ONC with substantial relevant experience;
- Significant CAM programming experience, ideally in aerospace or advanced manufacturing;
- Hands-on experience machining composites and aluminium, programming for 5-axis milling machines;
- Knowledge of KUKA 7 Axis robotic programming and flow waterjet cutting techniques
Desirable
- Familiarity with Siemens 840D and Sinumerik One CNC controls is highly advantageous;
- Experience with PLM and ERP systems for program and data management;
- Manual machining experience is a bonus;
- A proactive team player with a problem-solving mindset and excellent communication skills;
- Experience with Lean continuous improvement Ideologies (Six Sigma, Greenbelt, 8D etc.)
