Sitting across our three business lines; Civil, Defence and Engines at our East Cowes manufacturing plants you’ll do just that. Established in 1901, one of our older production sites with a workforce of circa 800 employees. Our East Cowes plants, Isle of Wight are where we design, manufacture, test and repair high performance structures and systems. We have two facilities on the Island; Falcon Yard, Ferry Road and Osborne Site, Saunders Way. Both locations employ the company’s distinct competencies in major assemblies and composite structures for the global aerospace market. Our customer base includes Airbus, Astronics, BAE Systems, Boeing, Bombardier Aerospace, Cessna, Cobham, Honeywell, Leonardo, Lockheed Martin, Rolls Royce and Triumph

Job Summary


As a Financial Accountant, you will carry out financial accounting and transaction processing by providing analysis, insight and control to the finance function across actuals, forecast and budget. You will ensure that the balance sheet positions for your area of responsibility are carefully managed, controlled, reconciled and communicated in line with expectations. Additionally, you will provide partnering to functions within your area of responsibility to drive on site performance through the provision of robust financial information and by holding owners accountable for improving it. You will also ensure that the business processes to do this reflect consistent best practice. 

Job Responsibilities


Reporting into the Finance Manager you’ll join the Finance Team and take responsibility for:


  •     Prepare and book financial data to ensure that P&L and balance sheet positions are correctly reflected in our accounts
  •     Provide business partnering to site-based functions – provide insight, analysis and reporting according to their requirements, and support in interpreting and acting on financial data
  •     Ensure that balance sheet positions are reconciled, understood, and aged or judgmental items are actioned to minimise them
  •     Adhere to all financial governance requirements and support internal and external audits as required

  •     Studying towards AAT or qualified by experience.
  •     Connects and builds strong relationships with others and an ability to communicate clearly, collaboratively and persuasively;
  •     Keen attention to detail; diligent
  •     Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  •     Strong organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise in a fast paced environment and to meet strict deadlines.
  •     Independent with strong ownership



  •     Experience in a manufacturing environment
  •     Experience of an ERP system or accounting software
