Sitting across our three business lines; Civil, Defence and Engines at our East Cowes manufacturing plants you’ll do just that. Established in 1901, one of our older production sites with a workforce of circa 800 employees. Our East Cowes plants, Isle of Wight are where we design, manufacture, test and repair high performance structures and systems. We have two facilities on the Island; Falcon Yard, Ferry Road and Osborne Site, Saunders Way. Both locations employ the company’s distinct competencies in major assemblies and composite structures for the global aerospace market. Our customer base includes Airbus, Astronics, BAE Systems, Boeing, Bombardier Aerospace, Cessna, Cobham, Honeywell, Leonardo, Lockheed Martin, Rolls Royce and Triumph.

Job Summary

 

Joining our Civil Airframe Engineering department, the Engineering Business Coordinator will be based at our East Cowes site on the Isle of Wight and will support across our Civil Business Line. Reporting in to the Engineering Business Manager with the opportunity for hybrid working depending on business needs, the Engineering Business Coordinator will support with commercial, procurement, financial and data analysis activities, including liaison with external supplier personnel and internal GKN Managers as required.

Job Responsibilities

 

Attendance and Activity Cost Collection
•    Setup and administration of activity booking systems (time, attendance and activities).
•    Provision of routine and ad hoc project reports (time and costs) to chief engineers and programme managers.
•    Enablement of and advice to engineers with regards to recording their time, attendance and activity.
•    Adjustments/corrections to job bookings in support of projects under direction from programme managers & chief engineers.
•    Liaison with the GKN Bangalore business support team (data loaders) and checking their inputs.
 

Procurement Management
•    Administration of Purchase Order Requests and maintenance of Purchase Order registers.

 

Finance Management
•    Assembly and pivoting of invoicing reports to enable reporting of month-end recoveries and financial journals.

 

General Management
•    Data analysis for KPI reporting of business performance.
•    Chasing of inputs and approvals – timesheets, purchase orders, budget coverage, Supplier requests to invoice and invoice submission/payments.
•    Liaison with Resource Controllers with regards to headcount and activity reporting.

How You'll Contribute

Essential:

  • A-Levels or relevant experience within a Business background 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • A strong interest in Business Management 

 

Desirable:

  • A Business or Maths related degree or relevant experience
  • A desire to progress within the company and own your own development
