Job Summary

Engines is looking for a VP Finance Supply Chain/Manufacturing Engines to support its global Integrated Supply Chain initiatives (Procurement, Manufacturing Performance, Footprint Productivity, Inventory and Operations Planning), which are paramount to its success.  The VP Finance Supply Chain/Manufacturing Engines is the senior financial executive overseeing all financial activities relating to Supply Chain/Manufacturing. He/she is a strategic business partner to the Business Line COO. They set direction, financial strategy, provide projections.

The VP Finance Supply Chain/Manufacturing Engines and team provide financial insights that drive decisions, financial forecasts, and business plans. The role has primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial related activities for operations in their business line. They drive financial performance through high quality decision support and FP&A, including product and conversion cost management.

It includes controlling and delivering on WC metrics (inventory, DIO, turns), control of incurred cost and operating expenditures, productivity (people & indirect), production costs variances incl. PPV, operations performance (scrap & rework, inventory adjustments, etc.), footprint strategy (Make vs Buy) support and most importantly design robust processes to control and deliver on productivity initiatives aimed at improving GKN’s bottom line (Materiel expenditure and direct materials savings, conversion costs productivity, value/component engineering).   

Job Responsibilities

  • Critical business partner to the COO Engines.
  • Drive process standardisation across the sites.
  • Track and control monthly incurred costs, in particular People Costs productivity and Indirect reduction, ensure that cost structure aligns with volume requirements.
  • Lead the team of Supply Chain/Manufacturing on the sites  Ensure robust succession pipeline is in place with strong talents identified.
  • Drive financial systems improvement actions, in particular Standard Cost deployment, including all variances breakdown necessary for standard analysis (Over/Under Absorption, Variances, etc).
  • Coordinate with Procurement on MatEx saving and track Savings as they hit the P&L.  Coordinate with Manufacturing Engineering to track and control the Component & Value Engineering projects savings.
  • Ensure that all Productivity actions (OpEx) are moving per plan.   
  • Track Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) initiatives especially on Scrap & Warranty.
  • Support all Financial Planning cycles by coordinating the input regarding weekly trading, monthly forecasts, strategyplan etc.
  • Ensure investments are tracked and fulfil the business case.
  • Support Lean Operating Model Maturity initiatives. 

Job Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration or closely related discipline. 
  • 10 or more years’ experience in Accounting/Finance (FP&A) with strong knowledge of commercial finance, possibly with Supply Chain /Manufacturing finance or RD&E finance background.
  • Strong business acumen in Accounting/Finance (FP&A) with strong knowledge of commercial finance. 
  • This role requires up to 75% travel.
  • Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations and/or program requirements.

  • Strong process improvement and implementation track record.
  • Greenbelt certified and/or good understanding of Six Sigma/Lean principles.
  • Strong written and oral communications skills.
  • Effective time management, organization, and prioritization skills.
  • Independent and assertive.
  • GKN experience preferred.
