Job Summary

The Data Center Manager is accountable for the service delivery of the Data Center in North America and all other computer rooms within the region. They ensure all Data Center Services operate to agreed service levels and are managed in a way consistent with the ITIL framework, as well as actively drive standardisation and work with the Global Architects to ensure future technologies and Cloud first strategies are considered through the Data Center life cycle. They also actively engage with the Global Cyber Security team to ensure Data Center security compliance. 
 

Job Responsibilities

  • Be the single point of contact for Data Center operations activities in North America.
  • Manage regional Data Center and computer room activities.
  • Operate and develop a regional team of technical specialists to deliver services to agreed SLA.
  • Deploy and operate standard working procedures.
  • Deploy industry best practice approaches and standards.
  • Leadership and development of people within the Data Center organization.
  • Ensure budget/resource requirements identified, input to relevant budgets in agreement with Global Data Center Manager.
  • Ensure the Data Center are managed within agreed budget/resource plan.
  • Ensure and follow up Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery.
  • Implement and sustain the following Key Processes: Event Management; monitoring , measuring against SLA, triggering and reporting; Incident Management; log all incidents and resolve as quickly as possible; Change Management; process approved changes from Build into Run; Request Management; manage all requests to resolution or escalation; Asset & Configuration Management; manage resources and configurations required to deliver services to agreed SLA.
     

Job Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma required. 
  • 10+ years of progressive IT infrastructure / IT application experience required.
  • 3+ years of leadership/management experience required.
  • Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations and/or program requirements.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT-related field preferred.
  • ITIL certified preferred.
  • Experience working in a virtual, multicultural, global environment.
  • Project Manager experience.
  • Technical certifications in Operating Systems or related.
  • Experience working in a global, high availability, high demand environment.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • GKN experience preferred.
