Job Summary

Global based role that reports to the Global QS Standards lead.   Responsible for supporting the development, maintenance, change control and continuous improvement of the GKNA Global Standards, ensuring the system is compliant to requirements and enables the assessment of the effectiveness of the system.  

To support the Business Lines and Global Functions in the development of standards and global processes  as well as collating and suggesting continuous improvement ideas for changes to the global standards system.

 

This role is a global role and it can be located at any site of GKN Aerospace.
 

Job Responsibilities

 

  • To act as a GKNA Enterprise Architecture Subject Management Expert (SME) for the Global Standards System and provide in-depth expertise for process improvements, process changes, technology implementations, innovation and other continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Supporting the Global QS Standards lead to work with Executive Leadership and Global Business Process Owners (GBPO), Business Process Implementers (BPI) and associated stakeholders for the definition, deployment, maintenance of the Global Standards and underlying processes within the Global and tailored BMS. 
  • Ensuring that the global standards meet the requirements of the industry standards, applicable Aviation Safety laws, regulatory, customer & GKN Aerospace requirements.
  • Supporting the Global QS Standards Lead to work with GBPO and BPI for the integration, effectiveness and efficient coherence of the BMS including Safety Management, Health & Safety (ISO 45001), Environmental (ISO 14001), Energy Management (ISO 50001), Information Security (ISO 27001) etc. as applicable to the organisation.
  • Supporting the Global QS Standards Lead, to define the system requirements for deployment and support of the Process Classification Framework (PCF) within the global standards, its stated processes & associated controls and training people who will be defining its functions (i.e. GBPO/BPI/BMS Configuration Management etc.) 
  • To implement and maintain the effective Change Management Process and configuration of the global standards, including effective communication of changes, and to provide expert guidance to sites for the incorporation of the standards into the local certified systems.
  • To act as a Change agent, trainer and facilitator supporting workshop and training activities in support of GBPO to develop and improve global process standardsl
  • To communicate risks to the Global QS Standards Lead and support in the development and implementation of ensuing mitigation plans and actions to mitigate risks.
  • Recommend to GBPO/BPI, and the appropriate Regional Audit Managers, of any assurance activities deemed necessary in support of the global standards e.g., post deployment of significant changes.  
  • Regional travel will be expected and occasional international travel.

Skills & Qualifications

 

 

Basic Qualifications:
•    3+ years of experience with Enterprise Architecture, including the development, deployment and life cycle management of Enterprise Architecture systems and Change Management tools
•    3+ years of experience of experience with the application of AS/EN9100/ISO 9001/ Safety Management, Health & Safety (ISO 45001), Environmental (ISO 14001), and IAQG SLA Frameworks, IAQG SCMH and experience of Quality Management Systems based on a Process Approach with robust Risk Management. 
•    5+ years of experience with business negotiations
•    5+ years of Strategic Planning experience

 

Preferred Qualifications: 
•    Appropriate ‘Executive disposition’ to work with GBPO across the organization 
•    Ability to capture the key elements of a system into a simple abstraction that empowers good decisions
•    Strong facilitation skills to lead process definition and process improvement events
•    Experience utilizing conflict resolution skills, and problem solving skills 
•    Strong written, presentation and oral communication skills 
•    Mentoring and coaching skills necessary to develop others. 
•    Industry experience within a Manufacturing environment (APQP) preferably aerospace/automotive.
