Job Summary

 

The QS Audit Manager will lead Regional assurance role responsible for the effective compilation, management, co-ordination and review of the Regional 2nd party Business Management Systems (BMS) audit program.  The incumbent will liaise with the Regional Director of BMS and BMS Managers for defining the audit program, scope and criteria utilizing risk based assessment techniques, internal business information and external Industry assurance data / Certification Bodies schedules.


This role can be located anywhere in North America.

 

Job Responsibilities

 

• Liaison with Regional Site BMS Managers and the associated CB’s to define the Regional 2nd Party audit schedule ensuring minimal disruption to the respective 1st & 3rd audit party schedules. Conduct Regional 2nd Party Audits with the designated Regional Lead Auditor. Conduct on-site audit activities, and assessment of audit evidence
• Approval of the Regional 2nd Party Audit Reports including the planning and follow up activities and NCR closure assessments
• Seek CI opportunities and best practice, share across region
• Assessment of internal and external BMS data / audit reports for the Region in order to provide effective evidence to derive the Regional Audit schedule
Note:  Data will typically be derived from information such as audit reports, NCR / OFI, OASIS PEAR assessments, risk registers, customer complaints, Global BP KPI’s and from GKNA Quality Council
• Communicate the escalation of any risks identified by the Regional Audit activities that impose a risk of AS9100 certification, regulatory approvals or customer approval to the Regional Director of BMS, Accountable Manager (i.e. Site Director and/or Regional COO) and BMS Manager in a timely manner; Identify and  communicate recommended actions to appropriate parties to mitigate the risks and support implementation activities and closure of actions
• Direction by Regional Director of BMS in coordination with the VP of BMS for the provision of assurance support to GKNA sites that have been suspended
• Ability to coach others, drive improvement. Understand audit programs to support and further the Big Quality culture and CIP
• Ensuring that the Regional Audit team maintains and takes actions necessary to improve auditor competence and currency to all respective requirements including Industry Standards, Regulatory and GKNA Global and Regional BMS needs
• Prepare audit plan, conduct on-site audit, including preparing working documents and meetings, audit evidence, preparing, approving and distributing the audit report; conduct audit follow-up
 

Job Qualifications

 

Required Qualifications:


• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Quality and 5 years of quality management experience including internal and external quality auditing and quality systems – OR – in lieu of degree, 10 years of quality management experience including internal and external quality auditing and quality systems
• 10 years quality experience in a manufacturing setting


Preferred Qualifications:


• GKN Experience
• Preferred experience in Industrial and/or Aviation manufacturing
• Certification or training in Auditing Techniques by a certified vendor or training agency; Knowledge of Business Process Management, APQC PCF
• Detailed understanding of ISO 19011 standard and applications
• Demonstrable knowledge of Aviation Regulators (EASA, FAA etc.) and contracted customer quality requirements
• Knowledge of risk based methods and techniques (ISO 31000), audit planning and management
• Demonstrable knowledge of AS/EN9100 / ISO 9001 and IAQG SLA Frameworks and experience of QMS/Process Approach
• Experience in IAQG OASIS database for the input/audit planning
• Strong continuous improvement culture to support the Quality culture
