Supplier Quality/Development Engineer – Data Automation
Role Purpose
The Supplier Quality Development Engineer – Data Automation is responsible for transforming and automating supplier-related workflows, data pipelines, and performance reporting. This role supports the digital evolution of supplier management by building integrations, dashboards, and tools to track compliance, quality, and onboarding performance. With minimal supplier-facing activity, this role focuses on internal systems, data engineering, enabling faster insights, and higher efficiency across supply chain and quality functions.
Job Responsibilities
Supplier Onboarding Automation: Streamline and automate supplier onboarding processes, including document handling, scoring systems, and internal approvals.

- Supplier Metrics and Scorecards: Develop and maintain automated supplier scorecards and performance metrics dashboards in collaboration with procurement and quality teams.
- Data Standardization: Normalize and clean supplier data from diverse formats and systems to ensure reliability and consistency.
- System Integrations: Build and manage data integrations between supplier systems and internal platforms (e.g., ERP, SAP).
- Data Tools for Stakeholders: Provide cross-functional teams with automated reports, dashboards, and custom tools to support supplier management decisions.
Quality Assurance
- Compliance Reporting: Digitize and automate compliance tracking (e.g., certifications, test reports, supplier documentation) to meet AS9100/ISO 9001 and customer requirements.
- Audit Prep Automation: Support preparation for supplier audits through automated documentation gathering and workflow systems.
- Process Monitoring: Implement data-driven monitoring systems for supplier quality and delivery KPIs.
Non-Conformance Resolution
- Automated Alerts: Create systems for automated alerts and tracking of supplier quality or delivery issues.
- Root Cause Support Tools: Enable faster issue resolution by providing data access and visualization tools for internal users performing root cause analysis.
Continuous Improvement
- Digital Workflow Improvements: Partner with stakeholders to automate manual supplier-related processes, such as scorecard reviews, documentation submissions, and approval flows.
- Performance Analytics: Analyze supplier performance data and trends to support continuous improvement initiatives.
- System Scalability: Design solutions that scale with new suppliers, evolving compliance needs, and increased data complexity.

Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Supply Chain, or a related field.
Essential Qualifications & Skills
- Experience:
- 3–5 years in a data automation, business intelligence, or supplier development role.
- Hands-on experience with ERP, PLM, or supplier system integration (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
- Familiarity with supply chain or supplier quality workflows.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficient in data pipeline tools, scripting languages (e.g., SQL, Python), and dashboard platforms (Power BI, Tableau).
- Understanding of API integration and data architecture principles.
- Knowledge:
- Strong grasp of supplier KPIs (e.g., OTD, PPM), onboarding workflows, and audit documentation.
- Awareness of compliance standards (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100) and documentation requirements.
- Communication:
- Clear communicator with ability to work across technical and non-technical teams.
- Attributes:
- Analytical, structured, and independently driven. Able to handle high volumes of data with precision.
Desirable Qualifications & Skills
- Experience in aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated industries.
- Exposure to lean manufacturing or quality systems (FMEA, PPAP, SPC).
- Certifications: Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), or similar.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) and data warehouse environments.
- Prior involvement in supplier scorecard design, work transfer automation, or compliance dashboarding.
