Job Summary

The Staff Accountant will be primarily responsible for supporting general accounting and monthly close activities, including but not limited to account reconciliations, journal entries and various ad-hoc reporting and analysis. In addition, The Staff Accountant position will be expected to support Accounts Payable, including processing vendor invoices, identifying that invoiced items have been received, ensuring that vendor files remain accurate and up to date, and tracking business expenses.  They will also be expected to work closely with the GKN Contracts group to ensure collection of receivables and appropriately apply payments.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Process journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Perform ad-hoc accounting duties & analysis as required
  • Provide financial support to multiple business functions regarding expense tracking and budgeting
  • Process and maintain all vendor invoices
  • Engage shipping & receiving to ensure invoiced items have been received
  • Verify vendor addresses, contacts, and contract terms
  • Process expense reports
  • Monitor accounts payable aging reports
  • Manage all vendor invoice related communications
  • Process & match accounts receivable transactions

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent 
  • Comfortable working remotely, with the flexibility to come to the office as needed
  • Must be able to perform work subjects to ITAR/EAR regulations and/or program requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using SAP preferred
  • Experience performing monthly close and AP/AR duties
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and computer literacy, especially Microsoft software (Excel, Word, PPT, etc.)
  • Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Excellent organizational skills to meet priorities and deadlines.
