Job Summary

Lead a team of production controllers and shop schedulers in charge of scheduling to execution to the execution of the MPS in operations.  Includes the management and oversight of the communication/monitoring of the sequence of production orders to ensure maximum capacity utilization.  Work with supply chain to ensure the availability of resources (tooling, raw material etc and with Operations for personnel resources.   Key stakeholder in the MPS and MRP process, provide inputs to SIOP process.

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Ensure safe working environment.
  • Manage team in accordance with GKN’s cultural principles and inspires employee engagement and high levels of performance
  • Define SWIP inventory strategy and ensures schedulers apply the policy.
  • Monitor manufacturing output/performance daily against the schedule, challenging and understanding whenever performance differs from the standard
  • Maximize shared manufacturing resource output/utilization while ensuring full coherence with the MPS product mix, volumes and required availability dates.
  • Ensure that sequenced plan is feasible, balance, includes scheduled downtime, is supportable with available packaging, tooling, fixtures etc.
  • Monitor availability of raw material/components and escalate as required to procurement/master scheduler.
  • Proactively communicate to master scheduler/operations management potential production execution issues/constraints to trigger preventative actions against potential supply failure
  • Weekly track, challenge and report schedule adherence with reasons for deviation to operations management and master scheduler
  • Monitor external supplier capacity and execution working with external supply chain coordinator and purchasing
  • Support customer and external supplier meetings

 

Job Qualifications

  • 5+ Years’ Experience Managing Production Control
  • Proficient in MS Office and other relevant software

Education

  • High School Diploma

 

Formal Qualifications

  • U.S. Person per ITAR regulations to comply with export compliance and site SSA requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ Years’ Experience in Aerospace
  • Supply Chain or APICS certificate
  • SAP software

Physical:

  • Must be able to work in a production environment and travel throughout the facility and corporation to obtain information needed to perform job functions.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 30lbs, using proper lifting techniques.
  • Some travel required.
