Job Summary

The Production Supervisor is accountable for achieving the People, Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory and Cost (PSQDIC) targets through the disciplined and rigorous adherence to manufacturing and quality standards.

The Production Supervisor is accountable for attaining Operational Excellence across their designated area of responsibility, in line with the Performance Center objectives. 

The Production Supervisor is accountable for creating a ‘Great Place To Work’ through developing and empowering first class Team Members and driving a culture of continuous improvement, safe working and open dialogue.

Job Responsibilities

  •  Direct and supervise a team of production operators, assigning tasks, providing guidance, and monitoring performance.
  • Leading and developing their teams to understand the context, and mechanics of PSQDIC targets to meet customer and stakeholder commitments
  • Maintain strict adherence to Quality and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) standards.
  • Train new employees and provide ongoing coaching and development for the team.
  • Conduct performance reviews and address performance issues as needed.
  • Coordinate with other Production Supervisors to ensure the best performance outcomes for the entire Area
  • Collaborate with other functional departments (quality, engineering, production control etc.) to address production issues.
  • Active involvement in problem solving and the management system to solve problems with the ambition that 95% of issues can be solved within the zone itself
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and open communication.
  • Driving and facilitating the Engagement of all team members, ensuring engagement actions are defined, implemented and followed-through

Job Qualifications

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED required; proof of completion must be provided after offer acceptance.

 Essential:

  •   MUST BE A U.S Citizen.
  • Able to demonstrate competence to undertake key tasks within their designated work zone or those in zones within similar processes
  • Excellent performance as a Team member, demonstrating rigorous adherence to standardised work, and a track record of Kaizen implementation
  • Self-motivated by meeting and exceeding PSQDCC performance targets
  • The demonstrated ability to work with various stakeholders
  • Demonstrated potential to lead, engage, train and develop direct reports
  • An effective communicator and an influential team member
  • Qualifications in an Engineering or Science discipline
  • Experience working with a Lean Operating Model / Production System
  • Lean or Six Sigma certification by a reputable certifying body or benchmark company
  • Aerospace supply chain experience
