Job Summary

The Quality Excellence leader is accountable for developing, improving and maintaining the strategic quality tools and deployment materials including Quality training and competence, the Quality Excellence Framework, the Aerospace Policy Management System and leading other key global strategic Quality initiatives to make an impact on GKN Aerospace performance.

Job Responsibilities

  • Landscaping best in class organisations to enhance GKN Aerospace approach to Quality, developing and deploying strategies to improve GKN Aerospace based on the landscaping
  • Develop and deploy One GKNA Quality Culture throughout the organization including the development of materials and tools to support maturation of desired culture
  • Project manage deployment of key Quality strategic projects e.g. Quality Culture 
  • Develop knowledge mgmt. and best practice sharing strategy, tools and deployment approach
  • Develop, maintain and improve key Quality tools to help assess and improve the Quality function
  • Leadership for the deployment, maintenance and improvement of APMS
  • Extensive expert knowledge of Quality in Aerospace including industry standards, Quality systems and Quality tools
  • Experience of leading organization wide strategic projects including development of vision, deployment strategy, project planning and ownership for project execution
  • Ability to articulate and communicate vision in an engaging way at multiple levels of the organization
  • Strong influencing skills to engage with people throughout the GKN Aerospace organization to gain alignment and support for strategic initiatives
  • Experience of landscaping and benchmarking internally and externally to identify best practices and stay up to date on advances in the field
  • Experience of developing Quality tools and training materials
  • Accredited degree (such as university degree, masters degree etc.)
  • Ability to assimilate information from multiple sources and concisely communicate recommendations
  • Experience of working across cultures effectively
  • Project planning software experience e.g. Microsoft Project or Clarizen
  • Effective at working in a matrix organization

Job Qualifications

  • Academic Background Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Industrial, Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or related field).
  • Certifications in quality (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Engineer) are desirable.
  • Experience
  • Previous experience in quality engineering within aerospace or manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with quality systems, audits, and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience in new product introduction (NPI) and process validation is desirable.
