Job Summary
An Inventory Control Specialist ensures that inventory is accurately tracked, efficiently managed, and readily available to meet organizational needs. They play a critical role in maintaining supply chain efficiency, minimizing stock discrepancies, and supporting overall operational success.
Job Responsibilities
Inventory Control Specialists oversee the ordering, receiving, storing, and distribution of products and supplies. Their duties include:
- Inventory Management: Track inventory levels, perform regular audits, reconcile discrepancies between physical stock and records, and maintain accurate documentation.
- Shipping and Receiving: Handle the shipment and receipt of products, materials, and supplies, including special orders, and ensure timely delivery.
- Stock Control: Process requisitions, replenish stock items, and manage specialty carts or kits, ensuring priority items are delivered promptly.
- Data and Reporting: Use inventory management software to update records, generate reports, monitor trends, and forecast future inventory needs.
- Collaboration: Work with procurement, logistics, sales, and other departments to maintain optimal stock levels and support supply chain operations.
- Problem Resolution: Investigate inventory discrepancies, implement corrective actions, and support continuous quality improvement processes.
- Training and Supervision: Train staff on inventory procedures and software use and manage warehouse or inventory teams when necessary.
Job Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- BSc/BA in business administration, logistics, or a related field
- Proficiency in inventory management software and familiarity with supply chain procedures.
- Ability to lift and move heavy items; work may occur in warehouse environments that are hot, cold, or physically demanding.
Preferred Qualifications:
- GKN Aerospace Experience
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities; effective customer service skills for client interactions.
- supply chain certifications are a plus
