We are currently seeking a reliable and hardworking Trade Waste Operator at our Filton site in Bristol.
 

As a Trade Effluent Plant Operator, your will work as part of a team to achieve maximum effectiveness and efficiency of the onsite Trade Effluent Facility. The successful applicant will work closely with the other members of the Regulatory Compliance Team to ensure the plant operates without any disruption to production wet treatment facilities.

What You'll Be Doing

The Plant Operator will be responsible for the day to day operation and running of the plant. Ensuring all effluents received are treated and discharged within the Consent limits set by The Sewage Undertaker (Bristol Wessex Water), within the Regulatory Compliance Department.

 

Plant

  • Helping to maintain associated plant and equipment such as sump pumps etc. both internall and externally.
  • Checking and topping up various oils and sand filter.
  • Cleaning all equipment and materials as required.
  • Checking stock levels.
  • Test and confirm the calibration of all the plant and equipment.
  • Control the input of all effluents into the Trade Effluent Facility.
  • To sample and analyse effluents prior to batch treatment.
  • To complete a written detailed log of all daily tests, activities etc.

 

Expectations

  • Practice lower level skills and activities. Including cleaning & assisting out of trade activity.
  • Work with sub contractors when required.
  • Demonstrate improvements to plant reliability and availability.

What You'll Bring

Essential

  • Professional level qualification (HNC or Level 3 City & Guilds) within any profession.
  • Ability to work in a manu handling environment.
  • Self motivated.
  • Excellent Communication skills.
  • Ability to work as a team.
  • Customer Focused.

 

Desirable

  • Previous experience working in a chemical handling environment.
