The Opportunity

Based at our Filton site where we design and manufacture large complex structural wing assemblies, detailed metallic components and wing systems for a combination of both civil and military aircraft, our new Shop Floor Scheduler (Production Scheduler) will manage scheduling activities in the production area. You will manage visual systems to communicate / monitor the sequence of production orders, ensuring the availability of resources such as tooling and raw materials. You will ensure we create and maintain the optimal production sequence. Help us really make things fly!

How You'll Contribute

In this role, you will:

  • Sequence work orders in line with latest demand requirements and aligned to MPS for specified products and production lines understanding all the physical and manning constraints of these lines.
  • Monitor manufacturing output/performance daily against the schedule, challenging and understanding whenever performance differs from standard.
  • Monitor Stock cover daily in order to avoid Stock outs as well as overstocks by adjusting the execution sequence if possible or raising the issue with the Master Scheduler.
  • Maximize shared manufacturing resource output/utilization while ensuring full coherence with MPS product mix, volumes and required availability dates,
  • Ensure that sequenced plan:
    • Is feasible and balanced,
    • Includes all scheduled downtime (Holiday, routine maintenance, Line closures, etc.),
    • Is supportable with available packaging, tooling, fixtures, people
  • Monitor availability of raw material / components and escalate as required to Procurement / Master Scheduler.
  • Proactively communicate/escalate to the Master Scheduler / Area management potential production execution issues/constraints to trigger preventive actions against potential supply failure.
  • Weekly track, challenge and report Schedule Adherence with reasons for deviation to Production Area Management and Master Scheduler.
  • Responsible for the process and related scheduling activities on site

What You'll Bring

Essential:

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications – high level of competence within Windows 10 specifically Excel & Powerpoint

Desirable:

  • Experience in a scheduling role within a manufacturing environment including specifically Daily Scheduling & Execution. 
  • Working knowledge of Forecasting & Demand Planning, SIOP / MPS / MRP, Master Data Management, Inventory Management, Internal Flow & Warehousing
