The Opportunity
At our Filton site, we specialise in the design and manufacture of large complex structural wing assemblies, detailed metallic components and wing systems for a combination of both civil and military aircraft. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, we are seeking a new Senior Financial Accountant, to join the team, focussing on Treasury, Transactions & Governance. This role is known internally as Finance Manager (Treasury, Transactions & Governance). In this role, you will lead a busy and high-performing team of 6 who provide an efficient and effective service to our Bristol manufacturing operations.
This role is to be initially offered as a 6 month FTC but may become permanent.
How You'll Contribute
In this role, you will:
• Have responsibility for financial reporting, delivery of the Strategic Plan and transactional processing.
• Co-ordinate the annual external audit and any internal audit visits.
• Co-ordinate foreign exchange reporting requirements; this includes month end foreign currency reporting, quarterly forecasting for hedge purposes, monthly review of hedges in place and consideration of additional hedge requirements, to be arranged with Group Treasury.
• Complete and submit Government returns to ensure the site meets external reporting requirements.
• Ensure a robust financial control environment is maintained and documented in the Ways of Working, reviewing at least annually to confirm it is still fit for purpose.
• Oversee SAP GRC (Governance, Risk and Compliance) process adherence, ensuring monthly reporting of results and escalation & remedy of instances of non-compliance and annual review & challenge of all business controls.
• Coordinate peer-to-peer Balance Sheet reviews (usually completed twice per year).
• Manage the AP and AR teams to deliver an efficient and cost-effective service to the Filton & Western Approach businesses (including line management of the Portsmouth AP team).
• Ensure development plans are in place and actively managed to ensure team members are developed with a view to succession planning.
• Manage of existing capital investments, including capitalisation of assets, disposals, monthly depreciation runs and accruals and monitoring of spend for assets under construction (involving liaising with Estates and Services to ensure processes and procedures documentation is in place).
• Manage lease reporting requirements under IFRS16, including preparation of required approval documents, capitalisation of leased assets and maintenance of lease creditor balances to the end of the lease lives.
• Have responsibility for the annual insurance review and return completion.

Essential:
• Educated to degree level
• Professional accounting qualification (ICAEW, CIMA, ACCA)
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and Financial Reporting
• Understanding of financial controls and processes
• Experience of Financial forecasting and planning
• Managing teams
• Experience working within a fast paced UK plc. environment
• Good working knowledge of an ERP system (SAP preferable).
Desirable
• Experience working within the manufacturing sector
• Previous experience of working in a fast-paced, multisite PLC manufacturing environment.
• Previous working experience in SAP.
• Export control understanding and regulatory requirements
• Experience of working to strict deadlines in a demanding environment.
